Answer: nothing.

They only affect law-abiding citizens. I honestly don't understand the pro-gun control movement at all.
I agree 100%, anyone breaking the law will not abide by the law anyway.

It's so frustrating living in Maryland. I can't legally carry a firearm, yet I know when I go into Baltimore the people who plan on robbing me are carrying. I would never rob/hurt someone yet I can't defend myself. The hypocrites who disarm me carry though...

ARGHHHH !!!!

The following opinon comes from a self-proclaimed gun nut that wishes he could protect himself (me) in the state of Maryland:

I believe that the gun control laws are stepping stones to get rid of, read confiscation, all LEAGAL firearms. When this is finally done they will only have to worry about the Illeagal ones. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but it is what I believe they are trying to do.

This is a topic that we can gripe and complain over till the cows come home.

If everyone stands together I don't see any gun control against those of us who aren't criminals.

If (big IF) something does go down and it's illegal to own a gun, I will then be a law breaking citizen.

Or sold it...I agree w/your statement...However, it will then put us into the catagory of criminal...But, by the opinion of some, most of our founding fathers could be placed into that catagory as well..

PVC pipe about 3-4 inch should do with caps sealing both ends make a handy "storage" place when buried in the back yard.

(note make sure you remember where you "store" it or at least have a metal detector available to use)

My only question to the gun control lobby is this: It is now and it was before illegal to carry (just carry) a gun onto the VT campus. Why didn't that law stop this nut job?

no answer is needed

In the great social experiment that is Alaska, for 3 years now, a CCW is no longer required. Anyone who can legally own a firearm, can carry it loaded on their person concealed (open carry without permit has always been legal). Violent crimes have plateaued, an in most areas have reduced significantly. There arent "crazy gun owners" out shooting each other (other than a few gangs in anchorage, but they are shooting each other, generally not innocents). College kids arent getting drunk and playing russian roullette. All the fears that the gun control advocates have about legalization just arent happening.

As the details come out about this guy, it is obvious that he was several bricks shy of a full load and was hell bent on destroying everything around him.

It wouldn't have mattered if this was England and nobody had a gun. Someone like this simply would have wandered down to the local co-op and picked up a five gallon bucket of fertilizer and a gallon of diesel or something else to do it.

It's not ever the weapon... it's the person behind it. Until you can control that, the problem will never be solved.

I believe it was in England, there was an interview I saw with a former criminal, when asked about how easy it is to get an illegal handgun his reply was "$50 for a "dirty" and $300 for a "clean" gun"

Same here, if you have a permit you are aloud to carry concealed except into federal buildings. Courts, Post, office and so on.

Also in NY the law states if you have a fire arm on you it must be loaded at all time so you can protect you and the fire arm at all times. Now after everything is done there last phone call is to the house hold and they ask if anyone has a problem with a firearm being in the house and if anyone does your permit is declined. IMO every place state should be like this. Now that isnt going to stop a person from buying an illigal firearm. But this kid wouldnt have bought one legaly here. And you cant apply for a permit until your 21.

That's interesting. It's easier to become a police officer and carry concealed legally than it is to obtain a CCW permit.

Yup. You have to see what they put you through just to get a handgun. To buy a handgun you have to go to a gun store put a down payment on it fill out paper work, then take paper work to police headquarters 26 miles away, show cops paper work, then fill out more paper work. Then go back to gun store and pay for handgun, fill out more paper work. Take gun and paper work back to police headquarters and fill out more paper work and have gun inspected, then you can go home. Its easily a 5-6 hr day.
