I'd say you did exactly the right thing. That punk may have gotten away with a hit and run otherwise.
I guess the only downside would be if he turned violent on you, especially if he had a weapon.

Ya, I think you made the right move. I would have done the same thing. You can't do something like that and act like nothing happened and drive off. Then I put my self in the shoes of the person that hit the old lady.... I wouldn't like some guy chasing me down for something I knew I did. But.. Then again, I would have had the decency to take responsibility for what I had done. What did the guy say/do when you caught up with him???

you absolutely did the right thing... When something wrong happens in front of you, I think you have a moral responsibililty to help. Good job.

i caught up with the guy at a red light and i pulled my truck right infront of his where he couldnt move and i got out....he told me that he didnt do it...keep in mind that his front lights were hanging off his truck...and the funny thing is that when the cop showed up the kid was only 16 and he was charged with hit and run and truancy from skipping school...now all my friends are worried he is going to come after me with all his friends...because why i live everyone knows my truck but i keep a nice little 9mm Beretta tucked away in my truck...haha....

Well yes and maybe no.....
Kind of sorta or then again maybe not......

I would have taken off after him and got the lincense plate, then went back to the scene and waited for the cops and gave that to them and offered to tesify if needed. Set the sucker up and let him fry!

Is it wrong of me to sometimes want to get in a high speed chase just to see if I could avoid the PIT? If it wasnt for the public endangerment, the multiple hefty fines, and the thought of jail, my carreer and my family..... Then I'd soooo do it.

I have never understood so many of those guys on TV falling for it. You see it coming a mile away, have they never watched a high speed chase on TV before?

Don't put them elderlies on the same road as me. Especially in the wrong lane at a traffic light.

I'd say you did the right thing. You didn't let someone get away with something.
