Well i am somewhat new to this site and ive made a few posts, almost everytime a read a forum this member MGDFAN always has the best answeres. is he some ford rep or something lol. mgdfan good job, not picking on you or anything just wondering how you know so much!

I haven't spent much time in the chips forum lately, but I do seem to remember a certain jpdadeo and maybe marc carpenter?? were big troyer supporters. I have his product and it works well, but I don't necessarily feel the need to brown nose.

 

Well, I'll tell you what I think about Fan. Ithink Mike Troyer wrote his lines and all he does is copy and paste. If you notice, it's always the same script! Just getting you back, Bubba.

 

I checked his posts one time...50% of his posts are either telling people to buy TP products or telling people to call Mike...

That's annoying.

Hmmmm. Tough crowd tonight.

If MGD is happy with the service and performance that he got from TP, then it's only right that he should mention it.
New people post on the chips forum all the time saying "who do you recommend"?
If you asked the same question in the Lightning forum, you will probably see the names of JDM, PSP and JLP coming up more often than Troyer.
TP has a huge reputation from personal recommendations though so he must be doing something right.
I too went to TP for my upgrades and if asked on this site, I happily recommend him too.
Does that mean that all other tuners are inferior? Well no. I can't 100% say that as I have no personal experience of them but I do have friends who have gone to other major companies and they have had customer service issues.
BTW, TP does not, as far as I am aware, give out freebies to people who recommend them. They do have group deals on here but you pay and you get what you pay for.
I think he might send you some stickers if you ask nicely.

 

EnglishAdam, good point and I agree 100%. You bought some stuff from TP, and were happy so you'd gladly recommend him...but at the same time, you know that product B that is carried by someone else may or may not be just as good, you just aren't sure...which is cool...I just hate it when someone thinks that the only answer is what TP sells just because TP sells it.

Don't get me wrong...I'm sure TP's products that they do sell, do work. I'm sure that there are products that TP doesn't sell that do work...and I'm sure there are products that TP doesn't sell that are complete crap. I've never talked to the guy or dealt with him, so I can't say. I have no issues with TP, just with people that think everything else in the world is inferior just because they don't carry that certain product.

 

Not to jump in on this but TP does carry and sell the Edge.....but I'm willing to bet they sell more custom tuned Xcal2's.

Another thing to think about is this.....TP is a performance shop that sells performance items that have been tested and dyno'd at their shop....they're not a just a store that sells performance items - if that were the case, I'm sure they would sell every tuner, intake and exhaust available but instead they sell what they have found to work well with these trucks.

 

Nothing wrong with MGDFan or Troyers. I respects both quite a bit
