That sig is too big. Big sigs are frowned upon in the real world.

 

Kinda like yours that is 50% taller than its needs to be?

What a harsh crowd. As fas as the picture goes, it looks like the photos are just out in their with no rhyme or reason. For what it is worth I just made my first signature (at the bottom) the other day so I am not proficent but, offering my opinion.

 

It's kind of an unspoken rule.... well ok we have disqused it and decided that a sig should be at most 600x150.

There is many reasons, one being cosmetic, 2 being so we dont have to scroll up and down or side to side to read 1 persons post, 3 for file size of each page for dial up users. Among many many more but those are the main 3.
