Solving problems the U.S. of A way
Solving problems the U.S. of A way
Diplomacy is what we are told is what is needed to "win" the war on terror. This cowboy of a president thrust us into a war that some claim is a losing battle. It's costing us, the tax payers, billions of dollars. There is corruption, by companies that politicians like (R)**** Cheney have an interest in, and (D)Dianne Feinstein has an interest in, being that her husband partially owns a company securing war contracts. People are dying.
If our cowboy of a president could just try diplomacy, we wouldn't be in this quagmire. Right?
Websters says that diplomacy is the art and practice of conducting negotiations between nations. I see that the defination stipulates that the negotiations are between nations, but there are some situations here in our own country that may not be addressed in a diplomatic way, like we are being told the war on terror should be delt with.
Even though we've had snow here in the first week of April, and areas to the north of here have been hit with a spring snow storm, there is global warming. You can't deny the facts. The earth is warming, or as some might put it, the earth has a fever. So, are we handling this situation in a diplomatic way? We are being told that there isn't time to talk about it, we have to spend billions now so that the earths' fever doesn't get worse. The problem is, not everyone agrees that man has caused this global warming. Some believe that, based on geologic data, the earth goes through cycles, and that spending billions of dollars could be wastefull because perhaps the warming that's occuring is natural. I for one, would rather see a diplomatic approach, but we are being told there isn't time. We should just do what they say because they "know" that man has altered the earths natural cycles and withough intervention we will distroy this planet. This planet that has survied for billoins of years.
There are people in this country who don't have health care. It's just too darned expensive for some of us. Some of us don't even work, so how are we supposed to pay for health care. Some think that we need universal health care. Thoes of us that do work would pay for our health care and the health care of thoes who don't work. This, to me, should be handled in a diplomatic way. We need to know why health care is getting so expensive at such an alarming rate. We need to know why there are so many that don't have health care. We need to know why people who get health care and don't pay for it, do so. There are a lot of things to do with health care that should be negotiated, so that it's fair to all. But there isn't time for talk. If we have a job, we have privilege. We are being told to just pay more. Don't complain that it costs so much and don't complain that even people who don't pay can get care. It's for the "greater good", so don't question it.
Have you noticed that there are a lot of fat kids these days? There is. The rate of obesity in children is growing at an alarming rate. Kids are eating too much, eating bad foods and are becoming sedentary. What should be done to change this trend? Care to discuss it? No? There isn't time? Ok, I weigh one hundred and fifty-five pounds, and that is the most I've ever weighed. I've never been over weight. That doesn't matter though. All of us who have managed to, through some miracle, maintain a reasonable weight should pay, via our tax dollars, to solve the problem of obesity. Right?
The list can go on and on.
Can you think of an example of "problem solving the U.S. of A way?

I love how people think we can do something about global warming. did you know that studies have shown that a volcanic eruption puts out more harmful gases than humans do in a year?.....and that is just one eruption
the earth has been warming for a long time...ever since that last ice age....but wait...it wasnt ice before that.
Global warming may be happening...but it isnt caused by us humans....its just nature....and we have a very small impact on it.
plus leading scientist have admited to being payed to say it is occuring even though they dont think it is.
I'm not scientist, but I have done a little research outside of the leftist controlled media that claims global warming is caused by humans.
I am also taking a very interesting college level "science" class based on teaching students how to view the world from MANY angles, and see what is really "true." One of the topics we've covered is the concept of FUNDING in science. It is a VERY well known and proven fact that ALL science holds a bias.
And in the VAST majority of cases, that bias will be pushed according to whom is doing the research, who PAYS for the research, or what WILL pay to be researched.
Science that doesn't have some sort of imminent risk is rarely if ever funded, and certainly not well. If it isn't dangerous and immediate, why spend the money? Right?
So go figure that scientists are researching global warming with HUNDREDS of millions of dollars of funding. Big friggin' surprise.
What I find to be nothing short of amazing is the fact that with the INSANE amount of highly expensive research that has been done, there has yet to be a SINGLE CONCLUSIVE study linking c02 levels (ie human activity) to Global Warming!!!!!
Think about it, NOT ONE STUDY! All scientists can say is that there is a rise in c02 levels, and a rise in temperature....that's it. Not one study has found a definite way to link the two. One would think it could be reproduced in a lab with millions of dollars of funding, but nope!
Also, research HAs proven that c02 levels and world temperatures HAVE been tracked for over 100 years and that up until only the last 20-30 years there was no correlation between increased c02 levels and an increase in world temperature! Seriously, none! So how now all of the sudden does it have a definite link? Please...

This is a picture of Hiroshima, after the U.S. of A solved the problem of a possibly never ending war that many did not think the economy could afford.
Get the "diplomats" out of the way and let the armed forces do their job.

Amen! Talking doesn't get anything done...it just kills time so that the enemy can gain on us. I honestly think that liberals enjoy seeing our country fail at doing our job. There are so many people that do nothing but dog our country but they wouldn't go or live anywhere but here. They're nothing but traitors and hypocrites.

Who are our guys supposed to shoot at??
I'm confused. The same guys that want us in Iraq "protecting" and "Liberating" the Iraqi's want to Nuke Bagdad.
The entire opening post is the basis of a socialist country. The government needs to take care of us because we can't think on our own mentality.
Need a job? get off your *** and find one like the rest of society.
Fat kids? give me break, kids are fat because parents are lazy and likely fat themselves, what has the government got to do with it, why do I want my hard earned tax dollars paying for costly social programs so kids don't get fat.
Health care? I live in a country with public health care, 50% of my tax dollars, yes, 50% and rising go to supporting health care and it still doesn't work. I have paid upwards of $50000/yr in taxes, you do the math, is that what you want to spend on health care? The big debate here is about privatization of health care. For the money that is spent by the tax payer here, you would think we should have the BEST health care, but we don't. Something to think about.
What does being a cowboy have to do with ANYTHING? I guess cowboys are all dumb and can't think things through.
Maybe you will want to rethink your characterization. As far as the middle east goes, things could have been handled better in hindsight. But its hindsight, how about uniting and finishing what was started. Even your beloved Billary voted to go into Iraq but she has the option of forgetting that she did and now denounces it.
As for oil company contracts and backroom dealings? It doesn't look good looking in from the outside and hearing a 20 second soundbite on the news, you can spin that one however you want. Do YOU know that there was a better company to get the job done and how would you know? Hard to critic this one with out ALL of the facts.
All the other statements about nuking and clearing out a city of millions, of which 99% are innocent people like you and me, come on, its easy to say and adds heat to the debate, but are you kidding me, that is not an option in the world we live in today. This is not a war on a country or a nationality, it's a war on an ideology. This war on terror is likely the first war in history that will require as much effort on reconstruction and education as bombs and guns to win. A prosperous economy and soceity of educated people over time is what will ultimately erradicate the terrorists by choking off their recruitment. Its a fine line right now, because every bomb we drop, we are not sure whether we actually kill more terrorists than we create through anger.
Bottom line is that military force alone will not win, diplomacy alone will not win, timelines will not work, but a combination of the first two and patience is what we need. Patience and perserverance unfortunately is the biggest problem that any democratically elected government faces and needs to overcome to retain the trust of an impatient soceity.

The military has not been allowed to do it the right way since Korea. Anytime you have a REMF politician making the rules of engagement, you limit your chance of success.
You ask: "Who are our guys supposed to shoot at?", how about letting them figure that out, instead of limiting them and them blaming them for being what they are-a military force?
We have the lowest percentage of injuries and KIA in any conflict we've ever been in, we have the highest ratio of enemies neutralized per fighting man on the ground in theater, and we've rebuilt their infrastructure to better than it was before the conflict started, while the conflict is still going on.
Now let's get Pelosi and Company out of the way and let them finish the damn job. Better yet, let them move over there as long as they are so intent on helping our enemy, and we'll knock their butts in the dirt too!.
I thought we were Still dealing with North Korea??
I'm not dissing our Military. It's the Best in the world By FAR. They're designed to go in and Kill the bad guys. Not drive around and Police a Civil war.
I say screw them. Get out. Let them Kill Each other if they want. We can go back in and straighten out the victor's if we need to.
I know Sadaam was a bad guy and all, there are a Lot more out there just like him, but when did the US become the worlds BabySitter? Reinforce our borders. If somebody messes with us, Destroy Them, Like we did in Afghanistan. We still haven't finished that job!
