Believe it or not, I did that. I took all that crap that was in the yard, and I'm gonna start a compost heap. I would have to rake at least twice a day to keep the yard without leaves and twigs. I have a HUGE pecan tree and a very large, very old Pin Oak. They keep me busy.

Here's a picture of all the crap I raked up:

There is about a 2-3 foot hole under all that. That's gonna make some good stuff. I'll eventually rake that back and add some of my "fish cleanings" to it.

Nice and nasty.

well thats a bummer. Around here the only bad cleanup we have is in the fall. I have 3 acres of grass and when the leaves fall off the trees, makes for a long day of picking up. I got a tractor I use but the leaves fill up the bags pretty quickly.

I always dump on bag full of grass on a pile of dirt (started as grass clippings) when I cut the grass. Great way to get worms for fishing

That's a good idea 89.

I bet by this fall there will be some good bait under all that.

Well, back to the yard work I go. I have some branches to cut back off the house, then the gutters (again).

later

Hosers....you can hit up the bait shop for worms.

Although 'round here all the worms are Canadian Nightcrawlers.

Once spring actually shows up I can spend five minutes and have all I need for a weekend.

I'm SOOO ready for spring. I'm itching for some good weekend hikes. But we here in the north east have got to remember that it was in the sixties in December and January.

We just got a dusting around here. I'd at least like to see the temps above fifty.

Spring has already come and gone here. By "come and gone" I mean it was 90 degrees last week. My grass is green and all of my trees have bloomed out. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be record cold tonight (22F) and tomorrow, which is going to kill everything in my yard. That's 20 degrees below normal! Damned global warming.

Grim is right.

Right now it's 40 friggin degrees on my back porch with possible snow, Ice/rain mix tonight.

WTF?

At least it's not supposed to freeze. That would be bad for the garden and new grass.

Absolutely amazing...

Wish i could wake up to something like that one day.
The key word is highlighted.

Spring came and left here already too, I was raking the lawn last weekend but got the same crappy 5 inches of snow the last few days.

Worst part is that my newly dug basement hole is full of water again, more construction delays .

Well, it's just before noon here and the snow is falling.

WTH? I mean, shat, it had plenty of time to do this before I got my garden planted.

I had to go and cover all my plants. Now, I dont have the same motivation as I did yesterday to work in the yard.

I guess I'll go play God of War some more.

We had about an inch last night, but it melted off already. Turn the heat back on. **** on the snow if I can't have a foot or more.

It's snowing now. [WTH?]

It's about 40 degrees out, so no pretty stuff all over, but it's still pretty to watch.

I get my chance to show off some snow pics.

Do these count? I know it's not like the snow you guys get, but hey...it's snow.

Let me see if I can get my buddy to send me some pics from last night.

It was snowing so hard I could hardly see. I had hell tring to pull a loaded trailer up a few hills and had to put the truck in 4wd due to the weight behind it on the trailer. Made for a fun trip.
