The armed services house committee has banned the term "Global War On Terror". Wonder what they want to call it, maybe "police action against bad persons".

The acronym for Global War On Terror is GWOT, pronounced (gee-what).

Everybody in DOD knows about 'GWOT dollars'.

For five years it has been a catchall for everything under the sun, military related.

A National Guard unit, will have a line of M1008 vehicles(CUCV), which are basically thirty year old Chevy 4x4 pickups. They ain't never going anywhere near the theater of operations. They are all OD Green, then one day they are painted Desert Tan.
How did this happen? GWOT dollars.

GWOT is like giving your next door neighbor your credit card. What do you think is going to happen?

It's about accountability.

 

I think it is more likely a "political correctness" choice and the fact the it was GW who coined the phrase.

 

He also coined the phrase 'strategery' but, their letting him keep that one.
