is this a good radar detector for the money? im looking to speed about $100. can you still get a good one for $100 or are they just a noise maker?

i couldn't see what it does---wht it picks up, its sensitivity, etc. i am not a big fan of radar detectors; I use a CB when I am on the highway. I just listen to where the cops are. There are some great detectors out there, but none that inexpensive, I believe.

 

don't waste your money on a hundred dollar detector .. not worth it ..

Escort 8500, Valentine One, or there is one BEL that is good .. wouldn't waste my money on anything else.

 

Spend the $100 on a sign that says: "Hey crackheads, here's another reason to break into my truck!"

Everybody gets lazy, then leaves it on the dash in plain sight...and they may as well have spent the money on the sign.

Besides that, the sign will do about just as good at keeping you from getting a ticket.

By the way, I know some law enforcement types who will see the detector and use that as their personal justification to go ahead a write the ticket instead of a warning. They figure if you have the detector, you intended to try to avoid a ticket.
