He also pulls his 5er travel trailer all the time with one of the SD's he gets, he's been using the same 250 SD for the last 2 years going on it's third year. He aslo sends his dad with one all over the country, coast to coast and border to border, to get cars with the 5er, wedge style, triple car hauler trailer.

That is good to hear. Thanks.

Vader,

So far so good. We'll see how it goes.

When they want you to sign something is when you should have a lawyer look at it. They'll probably offer some sort of settlement money at some point to ensure you don't sue them going forward but I would consult an expert to make sure you aren't getting a raw deal.

The 2 that I've had to do, nothing was settled until you cash the check. I've never had to sign anything. If your not happy with the check do not cash it, if you cash it then you have accepted thier settlement offer. I did consult a lawyer for guidance on the first one, second one I knew what to do.

So signing papers or cashing the check isn't really the point. The point is to have the lawyer review whatever it is you are potentially agreeing to as the forms I have dealt with are typical legal forms with lots of WORDS

Like I said I never signed anything other than the back of the checks once they sent an amount that I thought was fair. No forms no nothing. Second time I played the third check game, didnt accept the first one casue it wasnt enough, didnt accept the second one just to see if I could get more....

Well then I guess you had it easy or were working with a stupid insurance company because they typically want to cover their backsides from future lawsuits.

Once you bring in lawyers, Insurance companies become real difficult to work with.

You can bring up diminished value and lost wages, But I dont think its worth starting a law suit over.

On a 2001, you may spend more on the lawyer fees then you will get in return.
Exactly my thoughts. Don't involve a lawyer unless you are absolutely sure you're getting nothing from her insurance company. They'll suck the life out of you.

They were covered, atleast in this state, once you accept the check then they are free from further legal liabilities.

I feel totally safe in our vehicles. When I was younger, my mom bought a new 97 expedition the 1st day they were out. Two days later 2 drunk strippers hit us going about 90. We drove away from the scene with some paint scratches but the camaro was fudged beyond belief. They hit a combination of my door and the rear wheel. However I do hear that f150's have very poor front impact protection.

I was hit in the rear so I have no first hand knowledge of the front impact specs. I can say that had I not been in my truck I would likely have been effed up pretty good. I feel lucky that I only ended up with a sore back and neck!
