Yes they are. They are up and coming and that always does well in the playoffs.

This one's just for Red Wing Nut. That was one great hockey game.

That was a great game.
But being that I'm oldschool,it should've been a tie. Shootouts are lame.BTW I played hockey for 20 years.

Yeah, I was a my bud's house watching, more like suffering through 50 someodd minutes of it, then they Stars came to life. I could tell Hasek was prety pissed, he hates losing, but those were some weak goals he let in, but insert your sports cliche here.

I like the shootouts, but that's probably because the Stars are the best SO team in the NHL. The last one the Stars were in they went 1 for 7 in the shootout, and won it. Edge of your seat stuff. I don't play ice hockey, but I have played roller hockey, and I've been a fan well before the Stars came down here.

Yeah yeah yeah, we suck at shootouts. Our biggest mistake in that game was getting too big of a lead. Then we went to sleep. Oh well. Nothing matters but the playoffs. What's the best part of the Playoffs?
NO SHOOTOUTS!

True, but it's a different season in the playoffs, both Detroit and Dallas were first round losers last year.

I like the shootouts, it adds excitement for the fans and you get to see some sweet moves by some players that you don't normally get to see during the game. It sure beats playing 5 mins of OT and not settling anything like it used to be. Granted, I never want to see shootouts in the playoffs, the best TEAM has to win in when its on the line.

I've been playing as well since I was 4yrs old as well and would consider myself old school when it comes to fighting and protecting your elite players, but SOME of the changes like the elimination of the red line and the shootout I really do like. A penalty for shooting it over the boards in your own end though I could do without, especially when in overtime or in the last few minutes of a close game.

So in your guys most honest opinion....who's got the best chance of coming out of the east and west for the cup?
I will be the first to go with Buffalo coming out of the east up against (I would like to see Pittsburgh win with all that young talent though) ........ Vancouver out of the west, with Buffalo taking the cup. (man I hate Vancouver) but I think Luongo alone is good enough to get them there.

Stars beat the Pens for the Stanley cup, and Modano wins the Conn Smythe.

IF Dallasota were to win it all, it would only be fitting that a Michigan boy (Modano) would win the Conn Smythe.

Detroit 4
Columbus 1

NBC and VS has crap NHL coverage.

Last night

Dallas 4
Nashville 2

Nashville has the sorriest fans, classless if not low or no class. Worst fans in the league. I like the classy fans up there in Detroit and the original 6 team cities, as well as here of course.

Speaking of Nashville, what's the deal with them throwing fish on the ice? The last game Detroit played against them, the fans threw a bunch of big ugly fish on the ice. WTF?

Last night it was peanuts. I think they are looking for something, but the Octopi and rat have been taken, darn the luck. I hate when they chant a player's name about 4 times, like Turco, Turco, Turco, Turko, YOU SUCK! Awful. They Boo Modano every time he touches the puck, what gives?
