Sweet Ian, now go out and thrash a few hundred rounds through it. I have almost a thousand through mine. I've been partial to Winchester SXT's for a carry load but am open to options. Quintin? anyone.

Sorry for thread jack - hopefully we all can learn something

I don't own a .40 anymore, but when I did I used Federal's 155gr Hydrashok load - which has since been eclipsed by better performing bullets. In 9mm, I use 124gr +P Speer Gold Dots, and in .45 auto, Remington's standard pressure 230gr Golden Saber.

kahr cw 40 is my new favorite gun. i promise you, you can conceal it with no problem at all, i have shot 500 rounds out of it since i got it a month ago and i swear it has not jammed once. also only paid 469 + tax, i like it more than my glock 36. just my 2 cents

this is my gun, too big to carry though.......

Atleast it will scare them if I ever have to pull it. I am getting my gun permit the day I turn 21, too dangerous around my area!

Kimber Custom II TLE/RL2 5" (Most accurate handgun on the market.

I carry a full size 1911 concealed from time to time. With a good holster and belt, a 5" 1911 is no sweat.

Fellow Memphian! I have the Kimber Ultra Compact .45 and I love it!

Where will you get your permit from and what range do you normally shoot at?

Im great friends with the owner of Range USA out towards Bartlett, TN. I'd highly rec. that place, and the last time I checked they offer a great deal for two or more who sign up to take the class.

Stay safe!

Sweet! Is that range you are talking about an indoor range? I have almost 2,000 acres of private land about 50minutes from memphis (down HW 72)

Where do you live? I'm in the Southwind area...

I live around the Walnut Grove & I240 area... East Memphis I think is what they call this area.

Yes, the range is an indoor facility, with electronic sending units. (push in the footage up to 150ft I think) press send and it automatically send's the target to that footage. They have a smaller range on the other side as well up to 75ft I think. They offer a wide variety of holsters, clips, shooting apparel <sp>. I have been to the other indoor ranges and this one is TOP NOTCH for out city! You have it made though.... I wish I had some property I could shoot my high-power rifles! The range only allows handgun calibers because the back-stop isnt really rated for any of the HighPower rounds.

Check out there webpage (and I hope Im not breaking any forum rules by posting this link)

I prefer the S&W model 629 with the 8 3/8ths barrel. I sold mine a while back, and have a S&W 4010. I keep wanting to get another 629, I got pretty accurate with the one I had.
