Boxing tips?

Me and my friends got into boxing each other right before winter hit and now we are going to start up agian real soon. There is this kid that i can't stand anymore(use to be friends with him). Anyway the only time he boxed all he did was through huge haymakers and never landed any. I want to fight him so badly but boxing will have to do for now. Everytime we talk about boxing he says "Nobody wants to box me". He thinks he is awesoem at eveything. He is just getting annoying so I want to mess him up! We probably won't box for another month or so. Does anyone have any tips on how to beat someone like this. I know if I can dodge his first punch and land a couple quick ones the fight will be over. But if he lands a huge haymaker the fight will be over as well. He is taller than me so he has a longer reach and he is a little stronger in the arms than me but overall I can lift more wieght than him. I need a good strategy.

Do you think I should bull rush him and come out swinging uppercuts and stay low? Or let him come and throw a punch and dodge it and come up and pop him upside hit head then throw a few combos? I mean it will be backyard boxing so if will basically be a stand up fight. I just want to beat him so bad because this kid wears the same sweatshirt everyday it Says Lincoln Baseball and on the back it says Wild Wieling. He thinks he is good at baseball but I can play circles around him but thats another story. I want to beat him so I can be like Hey Wildman remember whn I kicked your *** oh yea that was just thismorning! I want to see what he says. It'll probably be like it was jsut boxing and if we had a real fight i'd win. LOL then I'd be like lets see after school so I can kick your *** 2 times in one day...lol. Anyway any ideas anyone has?

You seem interested in this so I will tell you what to do. Tomorrow find the amateur boxing gym(s) in your area and pick one that has suitable hours and location. Most will have very reasonable monthly rates. i.e. $15-$40 and will furnish everything you need other than hand wraps. You will go two to three times a week and probably start sparing in about a month. You will start to see improvement in about three months and continue to workout and learn. This will also build discipline and self reliance that will help you in life. It is the only way.

As for your former friend you will find many people like him in life. The sooner you learn to concentrate on your goals rather than their behavior the better off you’ll be.

only thing i can say is....i have seen so many people try to take people out by swinging their arm when they hit....in reality losing power....if you go for a bull rush ...make sure to cover you face as you go in...cause he isnt going to just let you at him without a few throws.

last, prematch intimidation works well too.
i saw a fight where a guy broke the back windshield of a car with his head before the fight started.....needless to say...the other guy was frightened.

I don't think we have a boxing gym here. I want to box him and believe I can beat him because he does throw a huge punch everytime but I just don't want hit in the nose with one of those. I guese once it gets closer I will set it all up with his same ol remark nobody wants to box me and once he says it I will be like I'll box you with a straight face and then talk **** up to the boxing match. To tell you thr truth he probably won't do it because he has baseball right now and we can't risk injuring out star player ( ). I think it would be funny if I beat his *** then he gets suspended a game or two from baseball for fighting. If our town wasn't a popularity contest I'd show him whats what in baseball but its all about who you are in my town and I guese my parents don't do enough under the table work if you know what I mean.

if you are good enough and aren't trouble, there (edit: should be) no reason a coach wouldn't play you...keep working at it and you'll get there

1. How old are you?

2. You want to beat a guy up because he wears a shirt you don't like?

3. Is there nothing else to do in your town other than act like a bunch a adolescent nimrods?

Sorry, I had to get that out of the way. To be honest, I'm surprised I'm the only one who's said this.

I've been taking martial arts in one way or another for nearly 20 years. Last count, I've taken 13 individual styles. My preferred style & the one I find is most effective is Muy Thai (kick boxing). If your only goal is to get the tools necessary to kick someone's butt, pick up a 2X4 and hit him with that. Takes no training and works first time every time. The way you're talking, you're going to end up with police record. You'll have your fight, someone will see it & call the cops and you're in trouble.

If you are sincerely interested in learning boxing, you will find it's probably the single toughest workout on the planet. My body ached for days after a good boxing workout. It will teach you strength, coordination, speed, accuracy, endurance, etc. It takes alot of dedication & patience so it's really not something a person with only passing interest is going to be able to pick up and become proficient at. I would recommend any martial art that emphasizes fitness and dicipline. Forget about the guy in the shirt, he's not worth it, trust me on that one.

KC-10 FE out...

Here is all the help you need.

Get on the inside as soon as you can and stay there. Guys that just throw wild hard punches constantly have a tendancy to use one hand, whichever he uses most rotate to the opposite side while staying inside working his mid section.

He probably has no fighting ability, does not keep himself balanced and just swings praying to make contact. By staying close to him you will basicly render his style useless and make him fight your type of fight. If he is used to throwing big, he probably dosen't know how to work up close and personal. Give him about 3-4 good hooks to the kidney area and he will go down like a ton of bricks.

What the heck? I am not serious in boxing. I don't want to box the kid because he wears the same shirt I want to box him because 1. he is C***y, 2. he is annoying, 3. he thinks he is awesome at everything, etc. I just want to show him he isn't as badass as he thinks he is. Its not a fight its a boxing match. It would be just for fun. We did it all the time last year and never got the cops called. Alls they'll say is go to school(since we do it at like 7 in the morning). And now there isn't anything better to do but maybe go muddin.

No seriously my town is a popularity contest. All the parents said numerous times that last year was f'd up in the way the coaching was, who made the team and who didn't. I was cut last year beause the head coach didn't have the ***** to cut his nephew and the ***. coaches nephew and so on. I had a few parents say that I could play circles around half the team. Since last year baseball has been like the last thing on my mind. I have better things to do than practice everyday after school untill like 6. I could be making money or hanging out with a certain person.

Best way to do that is avoid him. All he wants is attention and that's what he's getting. Just ignore his sorry ***. You must have better things to do. You probably don't have a clue what I'm saying - and won't have till you grow up.

If you know you can kick his *** and you are wanting to **** him off, look at him in the eyes and pucker up your lips at him, then laugh your *** off at him.

There is no need to engage in fisticuffs.

You should just fart in his general direction.

(warn your friends first)

Thumbs down Look Kid...

It doesn't matter if your town is a popularity contest.

What matters is how you treat other people, how you contribute to the human race, and find "youself". The will always lead to happiness...

And wanting to fight someone because of what they think of themselves... or what they think they know.... Or wanting to prove some point... means you don't know who you are. (And alot of other things)

All my life I have always followed my father mantra, which is basically

a. "I don't care what that idiot did"
b. "I don't care what that idiot thinks"
c. "F them"

That philosophy (from a man who only went to 8th grade) has great wisdom in it.

It means if you think someone is an @ss, an idiot, dumb, a know it, a showoff, someone who thinks they are more that they are... then why waste one once of your effort or brain power toso much as acknowledge their existance.

There are way more important things in life... that would be much more productive...

I could go on about this forever....
