RSV anyone?

So Dane's been sick for over a week now with the runs :-( I took him to the dr last Tuesday and they said it looked like he had an ear infection but that it's clearing up, and he probably has a stomach bug. Well you would never know the little guy was sick... he was as happy as could be. Then BAM, Saturday morning he woke up and just looked like he wasn't feeling well, and had a 100.5 fever. Gave him tylenol at 7:30am and checked him again at 9am, no change in fever. At 11:45am we were heading out to go to Brad's baseball practice and I checked Dane again.... this time 101.4. I had already called and scheduled a dr apt for that afternoon.

Anyhoo, the dr said that Dane has an ear infection and the beginning signs of RSV. Okay, WTF? He's not having any trouble breathing at all, but the dr said he could hear a little wheezing. I know there's no medication to cure RSV but does anyone have any experience with it and what happened?

Thanks!

Not a clue but the past 5 days have been a dozy in our house.

My girl had a fever of 104
My boy 103

and now my wife has caught it.

I wore a rut in the road going to the grocery store for medicine, snacks and feel good food.

I never got sick, must be this diet.

Sorry RC, I've never heard of RSV. I hope the little guy is feeling better soon.

EDIT: Just reading about it on WebMD. Interesting that its been around for years and
If you're old enough to read this, you've almost certainly had more than one RSV infection. Most of us catch it for the first time before we're 2 years old.
You'd think I would have heard of this considering I have 2 kids, I guess if they had it, it wasn't severe enough to require a Dr's care. RC, it also says
Kids with mild RSV infection need nothing more than symptomatic treatment. For example, they might take acetaminophen (Tylenol is the most common brand name) to reduce fever.
Sounds like Dane has a mild infection and you caught it early enough that he won't require anything more. Good luck, my thoughts are with you
