I normally don't get too excited about the gun threads on here, but I just had to tell somebody!
My regular carry weapon is a Glock 21. One of the reasons we carry them is simple;it's a .45. Other reasons include ability to take a beating and still go bang every time, accuracy, and the double stack mag for higher capacity. The availability of a 25 rd. mag doesn't hurt it's reputation either.
Friday I picked up a Model 30, which is a cut down version of the 21. Same mags (including the 25 rounder) and basically just a shorter barrel and grip. Concealed carry is a lot easier-went to church this morning with a new Worlds Best IWB holster and my wife thought I had left a sidearm at home because she didn't see it.
Took it to the range this afternoon, and it shoots better than I do. Hazy, cloudy afternoon, and the factory night sights are much better than the aftermarket night sights on my 21. Even in my big hands, the shorter grip is very comfortable. Ran 250 rounds through it and never missed a lick.
Anybody looking for a smaller .45 should take a serious look at these...

nice choice. the G30 is my daily carry gun. i too added a pierce grip extension for my pinky.
I just picked up a Kel-Tec P3AT for pocket carry for when the G30 is too big.

If I'm getting a .45, it's going to be either a Kimber or Springfield 1911. I don't like Glock, never have. Unfortunately, I live in NJ so shooting is not something I get to do on a regular basis. When I lived in SC, I went shooting every weekend.
KC-10 FE out...

Cool deal. I normally carry a Glock 19, thinking about picking up a 26 or a S&W J-Frame for a back up gun.

Intruder; it's a double stack, but short.
Lees99: My wife carries a 3AT...but as long as I can have the extra stopping power of a .45, I prefer the bigger pipe. I also have a Bersa .380, which has a more comfortable grip that the KelTec. My hands are big enough the KelTec starts to sting on the fifth or sixth round...
And for those of you either concerned or amused about my carrying to church:
I'm 6'4, 265 lbs. Ugly enough to scare small animals and most adolescents. Easily recognized, don't "blend in" to a crowd very easily. I have been harassed when off duty, and therefore carry just about 24/7, especially if my kids are with me. learned my lesson many years ago when my kids were real small...on a bike ride with my daughters in the Burley bike trailer, and a couple dirtballs start following me,swerving their car towards us, hollering and throwing things. Didn't even have a cell phone on me, had a couple terrified 2/3 year old girls and no way to do anything about it. Not gonna happen, ever again.
