If you are looking for a new house inthe future you should look for a triple play market with fiber directly to the home. This would provide video, voip, and video. You can not get any better than that.

What do you have and who is it through?

If it's cable what time of day or night was that taken?

Thats got to be a fluke.... I do not recall ever seeing anyone bust 1/2 gb of upload.... besides multiple T3 lines

A single T-3 is 44.7 Mbps both ways (28 T-1's) So, many people lease a fractional T-3, for anywhere between 97 and 671 channels. This is assuming he (Netwurker) is using a T-Carrier system. There are a lot of other ways to reach these speeds, including DOCSIS (a standard for cable modems), SONET, ATM, etc.

Problem could easily be speedtest.net being overloaded or just the circuits being overloaded, not necessarily your connection. To get valid tests, you can't just assume one test is enough. Try multiple test sites. www.dslreports.com has multiple test sites.

Dish Network

For what it's worth, we just switched from our TV and internet cable provider to AT&T/Yahoo/Dish Networks package deal. We got Unlimited local and long distance phone, 3 MBPS DSL and HD Satellite packages with DVR for 85 bucks for the first year...it'll bump up to 105 for the 2nd year.

I had cable for the last 3 years and I don't see a difference in the DSL speed. We do the occasional downloading of small videos or work presentations, but mostly use the internet for web boards, e-mail and news.

Hope it helps!

Try this for me.....

Go to <start> then go to <run> type <cmd> (with out the <>)

A box will pop up, in the command box type <ping www.f150online.com> (with out the <>) hit enter

When the results are done right click and then click on <mark> highlight the results then hit <enter> on the keyboard to copy... come here and paste it in a post in this thread.
