You've never been to Fort Hood then... (That's a big summa b!tch)

So big, there's North Fort Hood, and West Fort Hood, aside from the main garrison. B-52's have even come to Fort Hood from Shreveport to drop bombs on our ranges.

Ft. Benning compared to Fort Hood is like comparing Delaware to Texas.

Aside from NTC and White Sands Misslie Range (Which encompasses Fort Bliss too), Fort Hood is the United States' largest military base.

Only Fort Bragg comes close to Hood in the number of troops too. When I was there, Fort Hood had 60,000 Soldiers on the main post, compared to 51,000 at Bragg (Which used to be the largest).

If you're talking sheer size, Nellis AFB is the largest military base in the US. Nellis is bigger than some COUNTRIES. The base population title definitely goes to Ft Hood.

I don't know... White Sands Missle Range is one HUGE piece of real estate... I mean, the test missles there, after all... You need room... NTC (National Training Center) has a pretty vast chunk of California...

What I found doing a quick search:

NTC: With over 1000 square miles (2590 km²) for maneuver and ranges, an uncluttered electromagnetic spectrum, airspace restricted to military use, and its isolation from densely populated areas, Fort Irwin was an ideal site for a National Training Center.

Nellis AFB: 74.5 Square miles

White Sands Missle Range: At almost 8,300 km² (5,157 sq. miles) the range is the largest military installation in the United States.

Fort Hood: 397.5 square miles.

Now, Edwards is large (And expectedly do): 756 Square miles...

but, if you need wide open spaces, White Sands, or NTC is the place to be.

Well, if you want to get technical, Eglin AFB has over 130,000 square miles of ranges (over the gulf of mexico), Eielsen AFB in alaska comes in second with around 60,000 square miles of ranges. For the largest cantonment area, I think Ft. Hood takes that one.
