Bull Shoals is about 2.5 hr or about 3 hr pulling a boat. That would get me to Lakeview on the south side of the lake. I used to live in Mountain Home so I have been on Bull Shoals quite a few times.
i might be parinoid but i would never call the fire department for something like this.
I dont know all the items, but there are alot of thing we are not supposed to pour down the drain or even put out for trash. if they could not find the odor they might have the water cut off or order in a detection company and drop the bill on you. Kind of like calling CPS to come out and make sure you are doing a good job as a parent. like I said, I am parinoid.
At my business the come around about every 2 years, 4 guys do a visual inspection, look for open containers and down the drains.about 2 years ago they showed up and asked for my certificate of occupancy (what a bunch of BS) and 1 moth later a buidling inspector showed up with 4 guys and found about $3k worht of stupid cr@p i had to do and then be re-inspected. About 10 years ago they sent an advanced testing team and stuck something down our pipes, they said someone in the area was dumping something bad and they were going door to door till they found it.

I sure will, and if you are ever in southen Missouri around Lake Ozark or surounding area let me know.
I have never been on bull shoals.
I hear that I shouldn't even think about it in my boat but if I do I've been advised to use an old prop and take a spare (which I always carry a spare anymore anyway).
What's wrong with Bull Shoals? It is a deep reservoir unless you like to run right on the bank with a draft equal to the Queen Mary you will be fine. It is one of the cleanest lakes that I have ever been on. Now the Arkansas River is a whole different story. Between the rock jettys and the floating logs it can get a little tricky at times.
I don't know for sure, I've never been there, but I hear the water is deep but there is alot of trees. Now the majority of people I know are fishermen, so they are probably trolling along the banks. Mine is not a fishing boat, but resting in place, my outdrive sits about 3' below the water line. On plane I might be 2'.
My wake varys depending on conditions.... on a nice day it looks like this...

On a rough day it looks like this.....

If you look close there is a 42" Tube somewhere in that mess!

You would be fine on Bull Shoals. I have seen more ski boats on that lake than you can count. I am sure that there is still some timber that is still standing in the lake but I have only saw a couple of spots where it was visable. I also have fished the lake and can't ever remember getting snagged that much. This is mostly for the Arkansas side near the dam. I have not been on the rest of it. I have family that lives in Lakeview so that was always where we would go.
The only other lake that I know of that it cleaner than Bull Shoals is Ouachita (pronounced Wash-a-taw). It has a bunch of grass that grows all over the bottom of the lake. The grass holds the dirt at the bottom where it should be. It also provides cover for bait fish so the bass have a great food supply and grow big. The only thing is swimming over all that grass takes a bit of getting used to.
