Interracial Dating-
Interracial Dating-
OK, as the number one pot stirrer, and seeign how boring the GD forum has been recently, I figure it's time to stir it up a bit...
Now boys and girls, if you have something hateful to say with regard to another race, then I'm sure we can do without your comment.
Now, there was a story on the news this morning and the topic was interracial dating. They said something to the fact that 29% of black women, and a higher percentage of black men dated outside their race. They didn't go into the rates of other races and genders, but most of us have seen it. When they asked the author if he thought the time was right for interracial datign to be embraced by the nation, he thought we were overdue... I couldn't agree more.
So, how do you feel? Would you date outside your race? If so, why? If not, why not?
Personally, I love women, period. I don't care what the race is. When I was single and looking for someone to settle down with, all I really cared about is that she be a good woman, a trustworthy woman, and someone who I believed would be a great wife to me, and great mother to my child. Now, it's hard to tell that with 100% certainty- sometimes we get fooled, but for the most part- you can tell.
If I'd ended up sliding my wedding band on the finger of a white woman, Asian, Latino
, (excuse me, but I love latino women, I can't help it, they just never liked me!
) or any other race- that would have been fine with me... It just so happened that my wife is black as well. If she had been another race, and down with the program, she'd have still gotten the ring.
So I ask you, and there's no right or wrong answer, would you only date within your own race, or is your dating pool maxed out to include other, or all races?

Ive never had a problem with it. One of my best friends is engaged to a Fillipino woman, and she is probably the coolest women I have ever met. Being around "the guys" for so many years she kinda turned into one of us. She loves trucks, (she wants an older jacked up Dakota Sport 4x4) loves country music, and cant stand "pretty boys"
I am white, not that it matters. I love women period. Yes I'd date outside my race. One of the best looking women I've seen was black and beautiful.
My wife's best friend (white) is married to a black man. They are great together. I don't see them as a mixed race couple, just as a couple. Sorry I can't add any fire to your debate.

I love women, period- So I dated outside my race whenever the opportunity presented itself.
I doesn't bother me, rarely even gets my attention, but some folks feel very strongly against it for some reason or another. There was a woman on the news this morning (Where I got the idea for this post from) who's family disowned her (Latino) when she decided to mary a black man.
They wouldn't even let her come to her dad's funeral...
Is that crazy or what?
This is a very upsetting subject for me.
I have asked out white women, black women, hispanic women, asian women, just about every make and model there is.
They all say the same thing, "I'm sorry, I don't date outside my own race.".
WTF

But I'll stick with the white girls, and leave the other races alone. Cause well damn, just check out the sig..

At least they didn't say 'species.' That really hurts.
I'm white.
I've seen a few women of other races that I wouldn't mind doing the "no pants dance" with, but I would never date one. Not worth the hassel... plus, we'd stand out like a sore thumb around here. Redneck land USA. YEEHAW!

I was born and raised in this podunk town. Population as of year 2000 was 12,155 and 32,513 in the entire county. (in 1990 "when I was dating" population was only 9,983) I can count on my hands and maybe a few toes everyone that was anything other than caucasion, and everyone knew all of those people by name.
So the chances for me to bump into and get an oppurtunity to consider dating outside my race was slim to non. So the thought barely crossed my mind.
Growing up I was friends with one of the (excuse the unpolitical corectness) black kids that was my age. We were good friends Kindergarten-5th grade, stayed the night at each others house, ran around together, I got in several brawls over his race growing up. Kids can be mean. About the 6th grade he started to fall into the sterotype because thats what he had been taught that he was or thought he should be all those years by our peers. As he got deeper in the punk/gangsta mode, we grew futher apart. Then in the 8th grade, His white GF, which I did not have a problem with, his odds of finding someone in his race were as slim as mine finding someone in his race, so I was happy for him. She did not know our history and the bish told him I said some racialy derogatory things about him. We really hadn't spoke in 2 years, and he was very defensive of this. He felt it was his duty to stand, and as his punk/gansta image he thought that he had to maintain, he attacked me and wouldn't listen to reason. I just defended myself but never attacked back. We never spoke again. Last I heard his punk/gangsta routine landed him in prison at age 18 for life.
I say all that to say, no I dont have a bit of problem with it and if I would have met a nice girl outside my race that flipped my trigger, then I'd jumped on it like a grasshopper on grass.

The only woman I have dated who was not Caucasian was a Korean girl -- and I was loving life, as I have a natural weakness for the "look" of an Oriental woman!
Since moving to Texas, I have also developed a deep appreciation for Hispanic women -- that dark hair - dark eye thing is extremely sexy to me! However, I never had opportunity in my dating years to date a Hispanic.
I, personally, have never found Black women all that attractive -- the exception being ones that look like they are half-white (Lisa Bonet, Jayne Kennedy, J-Lo, etc.) As such, any Black woman I find remotely attractive would probably be considered "out of my league" and wouldn't date me anyways!
To be honest, I really don't consider a Caucasian and a Hispanic/Oriental/Arabic/Etc. to be inter-racial. I really only think of a Black-White couple as being inter-racial......
