Yeah, this BS about being offended that the President is being denounced or made fun of, is in and of itself, BS...
I take it none of you guys watch the Tonight show, Letterman, Comedy Central, or any Comedian.
Hell, Lewis Black (Increibly funny) blasts everybody in Washington, and get invited to entertain the President.
The President has a sense of humor, you guys should grow one too... I don't mind an American talking crap about the President, this is their country too...
But, when a foreigner like Huggie-Bear Chavez comes to America, and has Americans joining him in talking crap about the President- on our soil, that annoys me. This guy is obviously looking for a fight.
I say we send the Delaware National Guard down there, and give him one.

So? I guess I'm not understanding whatthe big deal is about where it was said, and who it was said too.
I admit, it would have been ballsy to say it at a concert at UT in Austin, but in this satellite linked, YouTube, internet world we live in, we may as well all be on the same continent...
Besides, they had to come home sometime.
I'm not saying they were right (decent) to say it... But, I do believe they have a right to say it.
What I seem to remember them saying was, something along the lines of, they were embarrassed that George Bush was from Texas...
Surely, that isn't the worse thing we've heard someone say about the President... If you really want to hear the Preident get dissed, listen to XM 150 (Comedy) or start watching the HBO Comedy specials...
Watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
They're saying it in the US, but, with 50% of the country in love with Bush, and 50% not, anyone expressing a view, be it pro or against, is taking a chance making their political opinion known publicly. Which is exactly what we claim not to be.

Ask Ross Perot what he thinks about it.

This country has always been divided. Always will be. We only come together when somethign threatens us both (Pearl Harbor, 9/11) and when we do, whoever pissed us off better watch out.
Checks & Balances...
We can't afford to be too liberal, and we'd be stupid to be too conservative. It's got to be near the middle.
Personally, I wouldn't have said what they said, and I'm not a Bush fan. Deep down, I agree with you guys- it wasn't cool for them to say that. I argue here to help keep the thread alive. But that was what, 3 - 4 years ago? How long are we gonna hold a grudge? It's not like they took our wife, made us get fired, or scratched our truck...
Us men aren't supposed to be catty, and hold grudges this long... Like the folks who are still mad at Jane Fonda. Damn, that was 40 years ago.
Life's too short... She's moved on, married to a billionaire, and folks are still mad?
Doesn't seem to be bothering her...

Instead, she tells everyone to stuff it every chance she gets, well, I don't have to stuff it. Frankly, I pay no attention to her but someone started this thread.
Really? She's still talking s**t?!

Damn, I guess she's got ***** after all!
Now I'm wondering what she said, recently.
It would have been funny as Hell if she had said at the Grammy's... "I'm still disappointed he's from Texas."
Come on, you gotta admit that's funny...

Bush handed the House to the Dems and gave them a slight edge in the Senate in November.
He is determined to give them a 60 vote Senate majority and the keys to the White House in '08.
70% of the country has come together and Bush is holding the short end.

I just noticed that Katrina and Karma both start with 'K'.

I think the only reason we're split now is because most of the world could see this crusade against Iraq was a continuation of Bush v1.0's agenda. Not only that, but our "intelligence" killed us too. How can we ever trust them again?
Did you see on the news the other day, where Gates said the US has "proof" Iran is behind some of the attacks in Iraq. Who's gonna believe that now? We'll never have the unquestioned credibility we enjoyed when Adalai Stevens put the screws to the Russian ambassador with his "proof" Russia was putting nukes in Cuba in 1963. Once trust is lost, it is Hell to get it back.
But, I firmly believe had Iraq bombed the trade centers and declared war on us that day, about 98.8% of America would have been behind wiping the floor with Iraq's butt, or anyone's butt who did that. But it took several weeks to decide Afghanistan (Taliban/Al Quida) was behind the attack, then we lumped in Iraq, meanwhile ignoring North Korea.
If we got righteous and stayed righteous, I think the people woudl be more supportive. But the piece-meal, candy-*** approach to the way things have been done since this war on terror began, has put us where we are today.
PS: I support the troops, and was behind the war as well, when I thought we were righteous. Now that I see we weren't- I still support the troops, I wish I were still a trooper. I'd go if they sent me. But, I'm still not 100% sure we weren't bullsh*tted into this war... Not anymore.

In reality, right wrong or indifferent, don't you think the antiwar crowd has already 'won out in the long run.' If not, I hope you guys are planning one hell of a comeback!
