First I did the decongestant thing and that didnt work, then I did the hydrogen peroxide thing and that didnt work. So obviously its related to my cold. After "blowing through my ears" that didnt work either. I could feel the effects of it but wont stay clear. So I still sound funny to myself when I talk and everything is muffled a little bit in that ear. Yeah this still sucks.

Keep doing the hold your nose and blow thing every once and a while, it'll assist in clearing things up even if you think it won't.

from a guy who has very bad ears...popping them like stealth says is what every doctor says. and dont worry I have bad ears before the doctor tells me to pop them...your cold builds up sinus pressure which leads to your ear canals behind your ear drums...this is relieved by popping your ears...JT, do this often..

Unless you have an ear infection, then all the poping/cleaning in the world isn't going to help.
If your ear drum is swollen or filled with puss or has an outer puss pocket then you need antibiotics. I wont go to the doctor very often, but my hearing and eye sight are two things I dont, wont and wouldn't mess around with.

It does seem a little better right now though. I read on WebMD it should clear up after a week or so on its own.
