My brother got his e-mail from dell yesterday. He has to pay $10 dollars shipping and he gets Vista in early February.

Me too. My laptop came with a free upgrade to Vista but I don't think I'm going to do it for at least a year, if not longer.

Great read on Vista and **ALL** the incompatibilities with *VERY* common programs -- including Microsoft products.

I'm definitely holding off...

I had the opportunity to try Windows Vista some time ago, and I will NEVER upgrade. Ever.

Bet you will....

Sure I hung on to Windows 3.11 (had to have the networking) until just last year but finally I had to do it...Netscape Navigator 2.5 just wasn't cutting it anymore

FYI: Upgrade copies in the past could be run as clean installs providing you could prove prior ownership

How much we betting? I'll switch to a Macintosh before I upgrade to Vista.

As I suspected, from the list that RP linked to, much of what I have will not run under Vista, or isn't even listed. And most of what I have is less than a year old. I am sure that is wht MS han't posted a list of apps that work or has problems.
