I am from Mid-southern Missouri, Texas is about 10 hours to any part of the border from me. We have friends in north west Texas that we go visit.
The northern part of Arkansas is just as beautiful as southern Missouri, that and Oklahoma is home of the ozark mountians, but the southern part of Arkansas is as rather unbecoming as Texas. There is beauty to be found I'm sure, but I have not seen a breath taking view there or even any pics that take your breath from there.

There are some slow drivers here, but in most areas, people go over the speed limit. On 2-lane hi-ways, we actually have the Texas Pass, where slow drivers (many times) will pull over on the shoulder and let you pass. I've got lots of friends here from the north and they've all been freaked out the first time they "experienced" it... lol

Well there is Texas, Maryland.

Of course we Marylanders put a landfill in the middle of it so visitors from Texico errr....Texas would feel at home if they came this far east.

You'll notice "drop off drive"...yep that's the land fill to the left...(zoom in twice)

Purrrrtttyyy

Yea I have seen that too, First few times freaked me out as well, at first I was reluctant to pass, wasnt sure what they were doing, if they'd just dosed off from driving so slow, cause it was boring me to tears too, or if they were going to wait til I was next to them then side swipe me. I was like "dude, Thanks but I wasnt riding your butt." I was actually a little offended til my buddy explained it to me.

Also when you get pulled over, they dont actually pull you over..... I am use to here when a cop has you he floors it to catch up with you, It's a game to see how quickly they can catch up to you. There they just turn on thier lights and expect you to know that it is you..... Psssh I'm going another 5 miles til they catch up to me.

I lived in Amarillo for a few months and then Canyon for about a year and a half. If you like really hot dry summer weather thats the place for you. It snows there too but not much and not for long. Not being a huge fan of 115° in the shade, I didn't like living there much but then we moved to Louisiana and I found myself missing Texas!

Well, regardless of where in Texas you move, here's something you won't find in Vegas.

Hell, I want to get outta Texas.

There are no 4 seasons here.

It's been my home all my life, but it's time for me to relocate.

Where in Texas are you?

I know for sure west Texas (lubbock area) has 4 seasons...
I know for sure NE Texas has 4 seasons... even though fall is relatively short.

I could see claiming south Texas to not have 4 seasons... they've got hot and less hot!

I'm in East Texas now. I was born and raised in Central Texas (about 40 miles SE of Austin).

Winter - one or 2 cold spells.
Spring - last about 20 minutes.
Summer - long, hot, miserable, and dry.
Fall - last about 20 minutes as well, but VERY pretty in East Texas.

The wife and I want to head more east.

Well if you end up in Lubbock go about 45 minutes North to Plainview.
homes are cheap and it feels like you went back to the 50's there.
I have a friend that lives there. He works at the WlMart dist. center there in the garage. he's got 2 homes now and makes a pretty decent living. the 2 girls are almost through school and will most cetainly be attending Tech in Lubbock.
And if you BF likes to hunt, there plenty of it (Goose, pheasent, dove, deer, turkey)
