Bowhunting
Hey anyone on the forum bow hunt i am looking for a good starter bow ? My friend told be that Alpine Archery bows are good and they dont cost allot. What do you guys think. Oh yeah it will be used for mostly deer hunting and i perfer a compund bow not a long bow. Thanks for your feedback.
I've been known to fling a few arrows. The first bow that I used for hunting was a Parker. It is a good bow and I still use it for bow fishing. I have since upgraded to a Bowtech and used it to kill this bad boy.
Bowtech makes the Diamond line which has recieved good reviews. PSE bows are ok, Hoyt and Matthews are good but might be out of your price range. I would not make the mistake of getting too caught up in the speed trap. A slower bow that shoots better will put more meat on the table than the fastest bow in the world but is uncontrolable. Almost all of the bows on the market can outshoot the guy that is pulling the string. I would highly recomend that you work with a local pro-shop when getting your bow set up. You might be able to get a better price from e-bay or an online store, but they will not be able to set the bow up for you to shoot. Every bow needs to be tweeked for the shooter. This is where a local store can help you. Once you get your bow practice, practice, practice. Once you think that you are getting good practice some more. Shoot out of a tree stand, shoot at funny angles and enter some local 3D tournaments. This was the best thing that I ever did. Shooting at animal targets in the woods at odd ball distances is great practice. When you are hunting animals do not stop at 10 yd distances an turn perfectly sideways to you with a target on their side. Learn to shoot anything anywere and you will be a much better hunter.

i agree....check with your local shop. i have a martin jaguar and love it. matthews and hoyt's are a little pricey, but good bows.
i've put a lot of meat in the freezer with my martin. my local shop has asked me when i want to "upgrade", and i say why??!! find a bow that feels comfortable to you, not one they want to sell ya!!!!
and practice!!!!!!!!!! you'll get hooked!!!
