White stuff in Texas?

Yeah, and the local weathermen said we weren't going to get any snow overnight. HA! We have about an inch and it's still coming down. Snapped some pics.

This one is from the weekend ice storm. Ah, I love Texas.

Yeah, I know, big deal.

Yeah. My mom works for the local school district and called us at 5:50am cst to say school was cancelled. Kids happy. I was in the shower getting ready for work, dicided not to go (to work). I don't make enough in a day to offset my insurance deductable ($500) so I did the smart thing and am playing hookey, and later maybe hockey.

Here in west central Minnesota we are in the middle of a weather oasis. I sit and watch the news and The Weather Channel every day about snow and ice in Texas and California, heavy snow in the Rockies, which in itself isn't unusual I guess, rain and wind storms pounding the northwest, nor'easters on the east coast and we sit here week after week month after month with nothing but calm. We had our first sub zero overnight low a couple of nights ago. I have yet to start the snowblower this season. Just day after day of above normal temps. Is this Minnesota in January? We have a moderate El Nino to thank for this I guess.

snow in texas?

every single year

...now 'south texas' is another story, but remember--texas accounts for a good swath of the south central united states, with a wide range of elevation, terrain, and climate

Ontario is still waiting for your warm air. It's -28 this morning. If thats what Texas considers warm then Texas is one bad a$$ state!

Well this time of year the lows are about that (28 above), just not the highs.

The high is supposed to be around 30 today. I took a vacation day- looks like all the roads going into Dallas are pretty close to being shut down.

Yeah, doesn't take much to cripple Texas drivers. I went to work Monday on the ice, not much fun dodging the goons.
