Are you considering a PM career in the construction industry working for a construction company with clients or as an in house PM for a company's expansion, ie "starbucks" with their store construction expansion or "singular" with their network expansion?

One of the it will save your @ss pieces of advice is... the accurate recording and documentation of events, incured costs and time delays, especially those that are the fault of others.

documentation, e-mails, records of events and loss of time occurences c/w those who and why were at fault. All these are bullets in the project wrap up gun fight when the extra billing and costs are negotiated, outside of base contract.

This part of the construction industry can be intense but also intresting.

Good luck in making the change.

Can you provide a little more detail?

What type of industry is the PM job in? Construction, manufacturing, etc
Is it for a lead position or for a joint position?

The more info you give, the better advice you can get...

It's a joint position, and it's for Suddenlink Communications (cable tv/internet). It will involve making sure that installations for schools, and major corporations are installed on time, and under budget. That's all the info I have at the moment.

Does that help? :o

You'll want to come up with examples of past behaviors prior to going to the interview. Review them and make sure you know what you want to say about them.

For this position, be sure your examples include collaborating with multi-functional teams, leading others, resolving conflict, and managing time, a budget, and contacts.

Don't try making up examples, that'll only lead down the wrong road. Come up with examples you can give a lot of detail to.
