The Boss 351s were only produced until like April of 1971 I think.
We used to have a 71 Boss 351, and the only perk was they rev'd a little better than the Cleveland, but they were not very impressive. Very little difference between it and a Cleveland. My 71 Coupe was nearly as fast with the plain 2V Cleveland. I remember my dad and I racing, and he was getting me by taking the Boss up to about 7K or so. My Cleveland just couldn't get there safely.

I forgot those things revved up that high. Just imagine if you had the 4v heads, balanced with forged pistons, 9.5-10:1, 3.73 gears, four on the floor (or C6 if you want a huge auto), and best of all an 8-71 sticking through the hood.
Someone said a chevelle or a ranchero and both can be had for a decent price and with the ranchero you have a few different body styles to choose from (started off based on the falcon, then the torino, and ended up based on the ltd as more of a luxury vehicle). I had a '73 with the 400/C6/9" and with a little engine work I had that 4,300 pound thing getting bout 18mpg on the freeway yet still able to roast the 275's until freeway speed. do a little work to that 400 and you got a motor with a ton of torque and enough power to have fun on the freeway (I found it liked to be shifted around 4,900rpm after I built it up, but a mere 4,000 before I did)
Also look into the old pickups. 50's have a lot of style and everything is simple but the 60's have more parts available.
Just find a vehicle you like, is cheap, solid (minimal rust, not too much bondo. you can check that by bringing a magnet. bondo is not magnetic), you both like it, and parts are available.
Good luck
How about a mid 70's Ford truck? We need ideas on what you want. A few years ago, I was looking at a 1973 F-150, short bed, regular cab, 75K original miles, rebuilt 400M that was bored, ported and polished, cammed, etc etc. Had a new lift on it with new wheels and tires. The paint was in good shape for being 22 years old. Only needed a new tailgate. The asking was about $2300 I think.
