Wow. Thank god no one was hurt. Sounds like you guys have a serious problem down there. I've heard about it on the news and how your southern border is being over run.

If I lived down in Texas or anywhere along the Mexican border I would gladly join the US Border Patrol. We need to quit wasting our money rebuilding Iraq and start building a giant wall all the way from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean.

I dont see what the big deal is. I'd suspect this sort of thing happens every weak. If I were crossing illegally, I certainly would go in a group and I'd be armed. And there isnt much in this article really, it could have been 2 guys with guns and the guardsmen weren't allowed to do anything. Besides, the guys retreated back to MExico.

That'll stop them dumbasses from crossing.

I say we setup a few checkpoints, and take a few head shots for a few months...I bet that'llstop them *****-tards from trying any crap.....for awhile anyway.

When I was in the Corps we did a JTF (joint task force) with the DEA and we busted a bunch of illegals, busted some drug runners, and had a great ol time.

The location is classified.

Why can't you build the fence and get the Mexican government to chip in on the cost? I would imagine this would be a national security issue for the USA.

Yea sure Mexico will chip in ...It is a national security issue....the most important one facing us today. Not if you listen to the media and Neo-Cons but it is.

Mexico Threatens Drastic Action over Border Fence
AZCONSERVATIVE ^ | 12 Oct 2006 | John Semmens

Posted on 10/14/2006 11:20:05 AM PDT by John Semmens

Angry that six years of lobbying effort aimed at an immigration reform that would allow millions to cross into the United States legally, the Mexican government sent a diplomatic note to Washington criticizing the plan for 700 miles of new fencing along the border. Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez called it an “offense” and said his office was considering suing the United States.

“We have an easement right to enter the United States,” Derbez said. “We will sue!”

An easement is the right of use over the real property of another. Another term for easement is equitable servitude. The right is often described as the right to use the land of another for a special purpose. Unlike a lease, an easement does not give the holder a right of “possession” of the property, only a right of use.

In most of the United States, using someone else’s property, for example, for ingress and egress over a certain number of years, regularly and without the consent of the property owner, can give the user the right to continue using the property for the same purpose for as long as the user wishes. This method of acquiring an easement is called a “prescriptive easement” or “easement by prescription.”

Derbez is rumored to have put out feelers to John Edwards to see if he will take the case.

Ruben Aguilar, spokesman for President Vicente Fox, said that Mexico had ruled out suing. He added he was “confident” the additional fencing would never be built because the vote on a fence was “just election-year posturing.” “They have to sound tough going into the election,” Aguilar said. “Polls show 80% of the voters want a fence. After the election is over the normal conditions will reassert themselves.”

President-elect Felipe Calderon echoed Derbez’s anger, but disagreed that a lawsuit was the right approach. “Free migration is a human right,” Calderon asserted. “We will tear down this wall if we have to.”

It makes me worry about our US/ Canada border. How long would it take for those people crossing the southern border to cross over into Canada?? We have the most open border in the world. I mean its great cause our two countries are best friends and we trust each other but we might have to change to protect ourselves.

If Canada has the will I'd love to see them do it.

I can see it now...
US asks "Why are you building a fence on our northern border"

Canada's response "Because you aren't building it on your southern one."

I suspect Canada has the same PC problems we do but it would be great to see
