Cable Satellite Cost Comparo Thread

So to compliment and not hijack the other thread... I was thinking, what on earth is everyone paying for their service? Don't forget to include your upfront install/equipment costs and what package/programing you have extra.

For me - $0 upfront, $0 install. Two HD receivers, One of which is a DVR. Bad-**** Internet. No premium channels. $115-ish per month currently.

Wait - I did have a $150 install charge for my Internet service 8 years ago...

Basic
Expanded
Full digital

1 DVR
3 DCTS
DIG-CNV
DIG-HD/DVR

All premium channels:
MAX+4
HBO+4
SHOW+4
TMC+2
STARZ+2
Variety+

Full Data services

Grand total: $39.91

I have no idea what it would cost for a regular customer to have all these services and be billed full price...but it wouldn't be worth it. I have said on many occasions, "I'm damn glad I dont pay for this crap.....there's NEVER anything on ".

$150 per month

Internet Service
1 HD Box with DVR
3 Digital Receivers
HBO
Extended channel service...

Too much but the difference in service elsewhere is just too painful.

I have digital cable, 1 HD-DVR, HBO channels about 7 of them.

Also included are high speed internet and basic phone with call waiting and caller id.

All together it runs a little under $150 a month. It is with ***.

There was around a $250 charge up front, because they had to completely wire the entire house.

For DirecTV Total Choice Plus + Showtime/The Movie Channel including Showtime HD + 2 Receivers + DVR service, it is costing me $70. Total Choice Plus is all the regular stations plus what the call the DIY stations. You also get some other stations when you get any premium group like Showtime. Also the DVR fee is the same no matter how many recorders you have.

DAMN!

When we were ***, we would find a way to work around an install fee if you were cool on the phone....at least I did.

I wasn't worried about it. The house I bought had a satellite dish before. The guy had to run cable to 5 rooms, installing new jacks in 2 of them. He used 2 spools of cable and was crawling through the attic when it was 100+ degrees outside. He was there for around 5 hours.

Our runs about $100 dollars a month. We got two regular tivos and two regular directv receivers. We got hbo and the regular channels. We had the platnum package, but no one watched the other movie channels. Tivo is awesome. No commercial dog the bounty hunter.
