Sprinkle some red hot powdered pepper where the cat likes to lie on your truck.

Pepper will get caught in cat's fur, and everytime he tries to lick it off, it will warm him back up again.

CATS!!! Doncha just love them? They poop and pee and make a mess in a box, walk in it, lick their feet, then look at you like YOU'RE stupid...lol

Set up a couple of mouse traps in your bed. If he sets one off, he probably wont be back for a while.

Fairly cheap too.

This one is probably worth a few laughs if you got the money.

Hmmmm.... Can't agree with that. Letting him out that is. That would add to the Feral cat problem. Feral cats (domestic cats gone wild) are very damaging to other things like bird populations etc. Do a search on it with google or something, I'm sure there's lots of info there. It's much better to put him a pillow case with a brick and throw it in the lake.

I think the best solution is this.

Seriously, if it was me, I would confront the owners. Bringing a body shop estimate to repair the scratches might go over well. That way at least you are giving them a chance to correct the problem since it's their cat.

You missed this part:

Just don't let them catch you doing it or you could probably be in some trouble.
I was assuming that most people would know what to do with them once they got them into the country.

Years ago we had this same problem. We confronted the neighbors several times and nothing ever happened. Then one cold winter morning, dad went to start the truck and he heard a thump. He shut off the truck and removed the now dead cat from under the hood, placed it on a snowshovel and went to the neighbors house. It was about 5 am, so of course he woke them up. All he said was "here's your cat" and dumped it on the front steps, and walked away.

Never had a problem after that.

My mom had a snake do that once, went into the engine bay when it was warm, and when she stopped at work, out came mr snakee. She was quite afraid of snakes after that.

I had a cat getting on my hood for a little while. When my dog got about a year old the cat stopped coming around. He got after the cat one time and put him up in the top of a tree for a few hours. That was the end of him coming around. Now the bigger problem is the dog wants to jump on the side of the truck. His marks are a little worse.

Try pouring some ammonia around your truck they hate that stuff. Makes them think there is a much bigger more dominant cat around. Also moth ***** around your truck will keep away just about everything else...

OK gotcha. I didn't miss that part, but I took your post as saying one of the options was letting the cat go. Glad you feel the same way as I do.
Carry on.

For the record, I'm not going to be answering any detailing questions about how to remove PAM non-stick spray from the paint!
