Then after all that running, punching, striking, and yelling you finally get to go sit down for a few seconds before getting told not to sit down. All in all a fun day

Must be a Marine... I"m Navy and all we have to do is get sprayed, wait 5 seconds, chase and tackle a guy with a rubber gun... They wanted to fail me the first time b/c the instructor who was doing the spraying and I were always trying to one up the other, both of us just playing around, and instead of the 5 sec burst he gave eneryone else, he got me for aa good 15 sec...

So, I tackled him instead...

I try not to get into situations that require physical force to get out of but if I were to be attacked the first thing I'd do is a crotch kick/hit/grab a handful and squeeze, whatever the opportunity affords.

What makes me the authority???

I'm just a little guy and had my butt handed to me a few times.

Any way yea a half fist jab to the adams apple or just below will give you complete control of the situation on most occasions (But not all). There is no such thing as a guranteed shot.

Be aware that there is a risk of personal damage to your fist as well, potential broken knuckles and fingers if you hit anything solid with a half fist. (To low is the collar bone or sternum, to high is the chin or teeth)

If your worried about killing them, then you should have ran.

I always thought the physical portion was a little stupid. If the OC doesn't work then the person will be shot. I put OC just below shooting someone in use of force because of the probable effects it will have on me. Since I wear contacts once I am exposed lose them and most of my vision.

First, don't get into fights. If you must, do a classic Austin Power's "Judo-chop!" to the SIDE of the throat, just below the jawline. There is a nerve there. Any light strike will make you tingle, and a solid hit will stun a guy and render his body completely useless for a approximately 2-3 seconds, giving you A. The option to get the hell outta there like you should, or B. Begin your hail of blows to his face rendering it a twisted mound of hamburger. Sure your hands will be seriously screwed up, but it will be worth it.

Disclaimer: There is a small percentage of folks out there (myself being one of them) that are not effected by your typical pressure-point strikes. If you wack 'em and they don't drop... well might as well fight dirty and aim for the coin purse quickly 'cuz your about to get pummeled...

I have seen people that are not affected by the coin purse either. Not a good feeling when you deliver any blow that should bring most people to thier knees and they just stand there and look at you.

Yikes. Thankfully I've never taken a hit to my boys, but I'm pretty sure it would hurt. Bad. I'm also thankful most people can't kick that high...

Some people are just to stupid to realize they are hurt.

I have not resorted to the coin purse yet but it is not beyond me if I was loosing and got a chance.

It's like any other area the more it is hit the less it hurts. They grow desensitized after a while. When I was in martial arts I could take a direct hit and shudder just a little, now a near hit puts me on the ground crying like a little baby.

It's called adrenaline... In conflict, if you get enough of it, you don't feel a thing, anywhere... However, in a relaxed state, a slight graze is enough to send any grown man home crying to mama...
