Whats the best present you ever gave her?
Whats the best present you ever gave her?
Alright now the season is over, but just wondering what is the best present you have ever given for Christmas? You know the one, that just comes together and makes her knees weak and turns on the water works.
Mine
A few years ago the misses and I were having some marital troubles. Our marriage almost dissolved that year. With out going into details in less than one year our friends had distanced them selfs as much as possible and most of the family as well as we were trying to work things out. It was quit literally us vs the world. I still maintain a sense of humor, and it kept spirits up.
I went to the jewelry store and bought a 4 setting necklace, each setting was a heart and I placed in each setting mine and hers birth stones and both side of ours I placed the kids birthstones. Nice but not very impressive... time to spice it up.
She always ask if I have got her gift yet. I told her no for a while, then the last week I told her it was ordered. She kept asking, and I'd tell her it was on the way.... then 3 days before Christmas eve she asked and I told her it came in, but it was broken so had to send it back..... Christmas eve, she ask and with the saddest eyes I could come up with, I informed her that the replacement did not make it on time. Her gift would be late. Night time comes I have to go to parents to get presents for the kids form Santa. So they go to bed, it's finally my chance to wrap this, I've been carrying it in my coat pocket for a week. Mean while I had managed to type out a little note to place in it about how the hearts were the glue that holds the family together in the end it is an unbroken chain. (It was more than that and more elegantly written but that was the geest of it.)
When I got home from getting the kids presents we put them out and went to bed. As I shut off the lights, I walked by the stockings, drooped the necklace in hers and went to bed. At this time she still believes the replacement gift did not arrive. The next morning we opened presents after all the presents were opened, I went to get the stockings down so everyone could see what they had. She is usually the only one that fills them so she usually knows exactly what is in them. So she sat hers next to her and continued helping the kids as I sat back and waited. Finally, she opens hers, her eyes light up with surprise as she sees there has been an addition. I tell her there is to a Santa Clause (Long time debate and yes I still believe, but thats another story) She pulls it out and looks at me. I feel about 10 foot tall at this point. Then she opens it and it takes her breath. Then she read the note and literally got so weak she couldn't stand. She has not taken that necklace off since and still carries the note in her purse with her and now she does not argue when I say there is a such thing as Santa Clause..
Let me tell you, next to the kids being born, that is the proudest moment in my life. I hope to one day recreate it again.
So what's the best present you have ever given her?

Seems like we got a lot of women on this board. Why so many posts about giving gifts to women? I dont see a single thread about what you got or the best present you got. Come on Men. Don't let the women have control of an F150 forum

Unfortunately I cannot answer UC's question either as I'm a forgetful heartless arsehole that can't remember any Christmas past.
