i had wrecked my L pretty bad a couple of years ago, $15,000 in damage. everyone was saying it was totaled, but they ended up fixing it because it still had low miles and a high book value. but in the mean time before i found out the insurance co. was gonna fix it, i went out and bought a brand new 04' competition orange cobra. i kinda looked at that car as the 70' boss 429 i would never be able to get. the color was similar to grabber orange and the 32v valve covers kinda resembled the boss 429 valve covers. anyhow i had to sell the cobra back to the dealer and got my truck back. the cobra was bad as hell, a real head turner, but looking back it simply was not practical as far as function and cost. i can haul stuff in the back of the L and it's paid for too. plus i would have had to start from scratch with the mods. i am glad i got the lightning back but i do miss the cobra from time to time. i just tell myself that the cobra was the most exspensive rental i ever had.

I went from 1998 BRB Cobra.

Felt bad for about 6 months. changed to a sweet WS6

Then I had a bad day and saw this 01 Lightning. Had to put my name on it.

I still have to hold back a tear when I see a BRB Cobra & a WS6.

Then I hit the gas and and look at the boost gauge, I get that fussy feeling and all is good.

I had a 99 v6 stang (was my first car). I had done all kinds of mods to it. Probably had 10,000 in it including full air bag suspension and billet specialty wheels. I missed hittin' switches and being in a car, but Im just baggin the L and everything wheel be ok again, lol!

I hope i get over it soon also. It's funny when I bought my new car the salesman said he never saw a guy picking up a new car look so miserable. I found my L a week later for sale on Autotrader at a used car dealer in New Jersey. I hope it went to a good home.
