Fastest voluntary documented:
Islip Dragstrip, NY: year 1965
1961 Volkswagon Bettle: 61 MPH trap speed
Fastest non-voluntary documented:
Spotsylvania county, VA: I-85, year 1968
1967 Pontaic GTO (HO): 131 MPH (six month suspended license, coincidentally served while I was on one year US Army vacation in sunny Southeast Asia, also non-voluntary.)

Not as fast as most of y'all, but I did 135 in my '97 Caddy STS before I wussed out and let off. According the the guys in the Caddilac Forums it would do about 155 before the CPU would cut it off, but that's only if it came with the proper speed rated tires from the factory.

After researching specs, evidently the fastest car I've ever driven was a GT2
although, as stated above, I did not drive the fastest I have ever driven in the GT2.
As for the fastest I have ever driven, I invoke the fifth amendment so as not to incriminate myself. I will say it was more than 65 miles an hour.

Probably a tie between a 911 Turbo and a Viper.
Rather have a new Z06 for the money though.
Actually now that I think about it those cars are kind of ghey.
One of my dream cars is a 70's Vega panel… with a blown and injected 502
Yeah people laugh at the thought of a Vega, until it pulls onto the line, then things aren’t so funny.

I remember back in the mid 70s I was a new driver, and we were out cruising around town. We saw a funny looking Vegan at a stop light. Everyone around was pointing and laughing. The Vega had these monster slicks on the back, and these little roller wheels sticking out the back. When the light turned green, eveyone stopped laughing. The front end of the Vega was pointing up in the air, and the smoke from those burned up slicks was everywhere. I can just imagine the guy in the Vega laughing his A$$ off on that one.........Never assumed anything about a car after that.
