Congressman call for Draft!

If the draft came back, and I was drafted, something deep down inside tells me I wouldn't make it to long over in Irac, but heres the story on wanting to bring it back...

On November 7, 2006 the voters sent a message to the Bush administration. It was a referendum on Iraq.

Now we have competent leadership.

My grandfather used to say: be carefull what you wish for.

I'm against the draft as a volunteer military is preferred over a conscripted one but he makes a valid point.

If there was a draft than those congressional leaders gung-ho for war might slow down if their kids had to go. Granted they'd get them out through loop holes but the theory is sound.

I know I'd sleep better at night knowing that Mountaineer02V8
was in charge of some powerful weapons system.

Do you think his home town would, knowing Mattineer, posthumously honor him before he goes so he can appreciate it?

"...without regard to his own personal safety, Matt moved forward in the wet, slippery hallway. The three inches of water in the bucket proved to be too much to overcome but, to his credit he never relinquished his grip of the one each, handle wooden mop."

I think before you can deploy to a country it is a requirement that you can spell it so, Iraq should be safe from the wrath of Matt.

It is also a rule for the Executive branch.
Though Iraq was invaded, the following countries are completely safe during the Bush Administration:

Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Uzerbekistan
and Azerbaijan

Executive order 3823792-f states that if a country's name is that long you can shorten it up and still deploy....

"Invade WhatChaMaCallit-Stan"

Ouch, well that throw's a monkey wrench into planning.
Those countries thought for their first line of defense from Bush was in choosing their name.

If I ever bought my own island I was planning on naming it 'Umama'.

"...in other news, President Bush plans on invading Umama. Determined to put 5,000 Marines on Umama by years end."

Matt,

Chill out chicken little, the sky is not falling. It seems like everyday there is a post from you with some headline that touts doom and gloom for everyone involved. How is being a Dad going? Do you still have your housemate living with you?

I wonder if Mattineer even read the article. Basically what the Congressman is proposing is that everyone be registered after the age of 18 (Selective Service, required by law now anyway) so that if some crooked politician wants to present weak evidence of how some country (in this case we'll use Pakistan, just for ****s) has nukes. This way it'll be that man (or woman) who has to send his/her kids overseas. Basically it's a way to combat things like calling the National Guard to active duty, which is bull**** IMO. I'm all for it, and not even a Democrat! Damn bleeding heart liberals!

another dumbocrat talking without thinking.

his purpose for the draft is due to "an abnormally large number of poor people enlisting"

his buddy kerry says the military is all stupid.

well at least we know what they think of those currently serving and who have served.

signed,

poor and stupid

(go army)
