Once proven it comes out under a different brand and we come along and are able to pick and choose what actually works well...

I haven't noticed any. I had a security update icon pop up from microsoft, so I clicked on it and there was IE7 as a security update.

Very soon... it'll be a standard push down via Microsoft UPDATE. I'm still debating on if I'm going to go with it...

I hear that there's a utility out there to keep it from updating automatically... might install that.

What you think your not being experimented on. You have to remember, it was on Firefox and Opera we were working with. You are dealing with first out Micro Sucks. Now that is playing with fire.

By the way. I wasn't kidding earlier when I mentioned there are 3 security flaws already found in IE7. 3 in the first 2 weeks.

I really didn't want to switch either because IE6 had worked just fine for me in the past. I figured since microsoft labeled this as a security update, I'd go ahead and download it. Since the switch to IE7, it's ran perfect without a glitch. If there's any "flaws" with it, microsoft must have straightened them out. I haven't noticed any at all so far. I have noticed that my computer can browse through web pages alot quicker now with IE7, than with IE6.

Here are 2 of the problems, and you wouldn't see the problem. However you might not be visiting the site you think you are. One is a spoofing bug. MS had one of those in IE5 and 6 (same bug). They took 2 years to fix that one.

Do Firefox and Opera have security bugs, most certainly. On Firefox at least the longest I have seen them take to put out a fix once it was announced was 1 week.

I'd think they would've learned from their mistakes on IE5 & IE6, and put that knowledge towards bettering IE7. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes with IE7. So far it's doing really well. So why change? If IE7 doesn't meet my expectations, I'll try Firefox. At least it's good to know there's an alternative.

Apparently a good bit of HP software for their all in one units doesn't support IE7 because of the Javascript window resize command being blocked.

They are "working" on a fix...

I'm really glad you mentioned this... I have a 3310 All in One... I wonder if that's one of the affected units?

Sweet, give it a week and you'll never go back. Make sure to add some extensions. I recommend the Gmail Notifier, Forecast Fox, FasterFox, IE View, and Stock Ticker (not updated for 2.0 yet).

Have fun.
