Help / Suggestions on getting a puppy
my folks have have many daschunds, most of them 'mini's'.
some they got from breeders, some from adoption agencys.
only one was a nasty piece of crap, and oddly enough, it was one that came from a breeder.
a few of them ended up with back problems that ended up costing my folks lots of scratch for the operations.
the dogs with back problems were not due to them being over weight. they are very energetic dogs, and a blast to have, but i think all the running around and jumping has a tendency to catch up with them (in the back) over the years.
the best one they ever had was a full size dog that they got when i was a kid, he lived a long life, and was the best dog we ever had.
i would get one myself, but seeing the crap my folks went through with the back stuff is a big enough factor to make me not want one.
