The missle that failed was for their most advanced long-range missle that is supposed to be catable of hitting the west coast of the United States. The other 6 medium-range missles they tested at the same time that are catable of hitting anything inside Japan including US bases there was test successfully with all 6 missles. IF NK continues to develop a nuclear weapon, you can bet at some point that Japan will be doing the same.

I think we should help N Korea with the nuke test. A ALCM launched from a BUFF(Big Ugly Fat *******er) fused for a airburst should be a nice test for their test site.

Well, if that's the case, then North Korea, Iran, and Venezuela's leaders need to go back to leadership school.

You catch more flies (Or in their cases, food) with honey than with vinegar.

Same goes for Cuba. I'm married now, but man- can you imagine the babes over in Cuba, just perculating... I had a friend who was stationed in Panama, and he said that's the best kept secet in the Army, when it comes to women... If they were states, the population woudl grow exponentially, and not just from the addition of their countries either...

I heard an AP reporter today say that North Korea was getting ready to do an underground test of a nuclear weapon. What makes us think it will be underground. They have their bird finger high in the air now, so I think they may very well try an atmosphere test.

My son is in Okinawa in the Marine Corps, and his wife and my granddaughter are there also. So it is kind of scary for me. All I can say, is if this country does move against the Koreans for conducting a test, I hope the people of this country get behind it. These sicko SOB, need taken out, if in fact they go nuclear. I sure wouldn't trust Kim Jong Illness, to be runnig around with a nuke.

N. Korea's Kim rallies army commanders
AP - 10/06/2006, 09:17 AM CDT:

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korean leader Kim Jong Il rallied hundreds of top military commanders as world powers pressed the United Nations to censure his government amid mounting concern the isolated communist regime was preparing its first nuclear test. Japan's vice foreign minister said the test could come as early as this weekend, the anniversary of Kim's appointment as head of the Korean Workers' Party in 1997. Japan said it was stepping up monitoring of North Korea.

How long do you think it will take Japan to build a nuke? I'm guessing five working days to amend their constitution and 15 minutes to build the bomb!

We've already sold Japan Aegis-class cruisers with missile defense capability.

Do you honestly think they don't have the bomb?

And if they didn't, we could FedEx them some in 24 hours.

I'm quite confident they don't have the bomb, just like I'm quite confident that they could build a bomb about as fast as we could express ship them one!

In some A&E documentaries I've watched, Japan and Germany were "this" close to a nuke in 1945, Japan even had a test mule on a submarine that was supposedly sank before it could make the voyage from Germany to Japan.

All I can say is, it's a damn good thing our leaders listened to Albert Einstein, or we'd all be sprechen sie dutch, or pledging our allegiance to the emporer.

In other old news, Russia detonated a 100 megaton behemoth near the north pole about 50 years ago. Rumor has it it turned darkness into daylight for a vast area. 10 million degrees at ground zero for the trinity bomb, and a light so bright a blind woman 5 miles away saw it... Amazing they detonated a bomb of unknown yield, 10 miles away from someone's house...

Then again, I just found out a few months ago that nukes were detonated in Mississippi in the 1940's (or 50's). You can blast 60% of Utah, Nevada, New Mexico- no one hardly lives there. But you can't go too far in Mississippi and not run into a small town.

Do people love President Bush because they love President Bush, or is it because they support the President, no matter who he is, or what his political party affiliation is...

I'm just wondering why he has such a rabid following.

LOL, I hope that was not directed at me. I can't stand Bush's crazy spending habits, for instance. The campaign finance bill was an unnecessary limitation on free speech. That being said, it bugs me when people make ridiculous assertions just to snipe at the guy. Comparing Bush to a Japanese emperor is one example. He doesn't have enough political power to pass the bulk of his agenda (social security reform, permanent tax cuts, etc.) and his party's about to lose power in the House and maybe the Senate. If he's an emperor he's not very good at it!

Unfortunately I wouldn’t plan on this country getting behind anything of importance, especially when it comes to our National importance or security.

Looking at 911 is a great example of just how dumbed down this country has become. Then look at the war on terror going on in Iraq and just how many, majority now, of Americans are ready to act like most democrats and “cut and run” screw the future stability of our country for short term feel good political gain but lets go ahead and give terrorist world wide the big boost they need and one that democrats have been working on since 911.

I have been thinking for some time now that many countries like Iran, Iraq, North Korea etc. actually have a much brighter and intelligent population when compared to America. That is to say generally their population looks long term rather then the typical American that can’t look further then 2 weeks from today.

We have fast food, movies on demand, Tivo etc and Americans think the world and reality should be the same damnit. Conflicts, wars, etc should take days and 2 weeks at most after that its time to change the channel, take a good dump and think about what we will eat tomorrow…

I love my country and served her for a good 10 years but its just so damn sad to see how many unintelligent, gutless, selfish and just down right morons live in my country…

I will be behind your son and every single American military personal who have the guts and intelligence to stand up for something LONG TERM…
