Chevy Silverado
I agree with that statement, where would we be without Ford introducing the suicide scab door, then Dodge stepping it up with both sides swinging open? Then Nissan with the 170-degree opening?
Aesthetic design cues from other manufactures doesn't sit all that well with me (see tailgate badge, ie). But it's the functional design advancements that are better for us the consumer in the way of manufacturer competition.
I just hope Ford gets that we don't want a 1-1/8th standard cab.

When I first saw the new Silverado look on a Car & Driver magazine, it was a small pic, I was like "it looks terrible....." But then when I seen it on the site, It does look a bit better, the headlights dont look good though.. Finally they moved onto a new generation
I got to check one of the new Chevy's out last weekend up close... I definately like it.. It's a lot better then the previous model. All in all I'd say it's on par with the current model Ford, possibly with a better engine. If I was buying a new truck, it would be between the new Chevy and Ford. If I had to choose between the new Tahoe and the new Expy though, I think I'd be leaning torwards the Tahoe.
I admit when i first saw the new silverado i didnt like it. But after seeing one dressed up im starting to like it more. Im not saying i would trad ein my KR for one but theyre growing on me.
Anyone notice the front end of the 2500 looks slightly similar to the front end of the F-250?
None the less...I think Chevy has done a good job with their new line-up, I swear by Ford but there's no reason not to like a Chevy right?

I'm not that impressed with the new Chevy interior. It's almost like they wanted to be more like Ford, but didn't execute properly. The exterior seems weird as well, like it's hodge podge of ideas from the competition not mixed quite right. I feel like Chevy has regressed last few years on the trucks.
Now, while I never got to see the '08 Titan trial units run down the Trim Common Final line, I did see the first '08 Armada trial units this week, and the interior does look much nicer. The front body-color facia looks better than the chrome bumper/facia cap look that the current Titan/Armada has. It's almost like Nissan is actually trying to compete against Ford, unlike GM which seems to think that they can sell trucks because it's GM.
