I think PSS-MAG hit the nail on the head, this was something that had to be done not just a "thrill Kill", evan though it was very thrilling just for the sheer fact that this thing faught so hard. It made me realize that if you were caught by one of these things there is no thrashing your way out of it.

Gator jerky is really good too.

 

I remember years ago, I had some friends with a bunch of property in SC. We used to ride their horses all over thier farm. One time, we were crossing a pond on their property and a gator actually tried to bite one of the horses legs. Well, being the country boys we were back then we decided to take care of business (mind you, this was SC back in the early 90's, permits weren't anything we really cared for) We loaded up the old conversion van they had, and eased down to the pond. There were five of us there, each one armed with something .243 or better. Needless to say, that gator popped up for a breather about 15 minutes after we got there and about 30 rounds sent him to the promised land. And we did have gator tail that night.
