Emigrant Direct pays more interest, so I say they are better.

well..I have ING now and I like it..easy to use...but not as high of int. rate as the other...just not sure if it is as easy and safe to use???

I have both and they are comparable as far as ease of use. ED is FDIC insured, so you are insured up to $100,000. I have never had a problem with any withdrawals from them. I have recommended ED to friends and family.

When you transfer funds from your personal checking account to your ED account is it considered a wire? Does your bank charge you for it?
