All you had to say was "The Hamptons" (Granted, it's as far east of East Hampton as one can get).

Well done (and the prize pot keeps growing since you don't want it.)

Yup, the very end of Long Island. I thought for sure someone would get that right away.

So . . . how many times had you gone over it and not realised it was Long Island? (I wonder how many time RP went by it?)

Did you find it by just combing along the coasts?

You mentioned the airport (again) so did that help you find it?

As for the birthplace . . . forget it. No clues.

(The prize so far has grown to include):

1 - Bag of M&Ms
1 - Pack of Bicycle Playing Cards
5 - 39¢ stamps
1 - Bic Ball Point Pen
1 - Golf ball (autographed by me)

I think that's it so far

i definitely spent an hour over new york, 15 mins in washington/oregon, lower CA yesterday on my initial search...then today i went back thru the posts, remembered the airport, turned them on, and did another run of NY checking the coasts for airports- took me about 45 mins on this run, cause i started with the great lakes. thats a pretty good prize list...tempting

Damn . . . when do you study?!?!?!

Prize is actually bigger becasue 6 places have been identified, so for Montauk I'll add one (1) blank TDK recordable CD.

So the package as it stands now is:

1 - Bag of M&Ms
1 - Pack of Bicycle Playing Cards
5 - 39¢ stamps
1 - Bic Ball Point Pen
1 - Golf ball (autographed by me)
1 - blank TDK recordable CD

all of it is yours unless you pass agian.

If so, whoever gets the birthplace gets all of the above plus . . .

hmmm . . . this is tough . . .

OK . . . the latest Restoration Hardware Home Furnishings Catalogue

So there it is!

yeah, yeah, got it, sorry, in training for the next three weeks at work, it sucks because I miss a lot of board lurking time... haha.

Pretty sure this one won't be found, not much to go on except it isn't a desert... haha.

J- lemme think about that package- some candy, a blank cd, pens and stamps would actually be useful

i run on a Inspiron 9100 Laptop P4 3.4 HT, 3gb ram, 300 gb hard drive- if autocad, and full on rendering programs ran more efficiently on a mac, i'd be there but-alas, the leading industry standards remain PC based... AutoDesk, Revit, 3dMax, FormZ, Rhino- plus im a poor college student. macs are too pricey...if i wanted a g5 (which would def. be ideal) id need to sell my 6000# inefficient mode of transportation..well parts of it... i need one of each..a pc and a mac.

The beauty of the intel macs . . . runs both mac and windows natively.

Unfortuntely, if your Mac programs are not universal, they will run slow. If they are universal, then they'll scream.

I'm sticking with the G5 for quite a while. When I "need" a new machine, hopefully Adobe's products will be universal.
