Belvedere update...

Decided to come in for a break... Just got the steering column installed. Still have to remove the wheel to install the new turn signal switch and billet wheel adapter next week, but its in for now. Got the brakes all closed up with the new proportioning valve, and all the steering linkage installed and torqued. Also, got the Lokar throttle cable installed. Looks and works great. Now I just have to fill up all the fluids, install the tranny kick down, shifter linkage and a few other things here and there (still waiting for the windshield to be installed), and I should be ready to back her out of the garage. I'm REALLY hoping to be able to do so on Monday...

So you're doing more of a "resto-mod" than an authentic restoration?

I wasn't sure what the end goal of your Mopar was going to be......other than a nice little "nest egg" for the wife's home decorating plans!

Yep! Resto-mod... and she may force me to part with the Camino, but Belle is here to stay...

BTW, as for the resto-mod I've shaved several trim pieces outside, including hood ornament and letters and emblems. No more dash trim. Stock stereo holes are welded up, and new stereo mount is where an air car would have vents. Colors inside and out are not stock. I've also added front disc brakes and a few goodies under the hood...

Just got new tires put on, but having carb trouble. I had the carb running just fine on the Camino ealier today, but got it back on Belle, and it somethings clogged, jammed... ... Gonna have to pull it off, and have a look-see...

What carb are you using, was it an AFB or something like that?

Edelbrock Performer... I put it on the Camino, and it ran just fine. Put it on the Belvedere, and nothing... I'll pull it off tonight, and take a look. May stick the Camino carb on there to see if I can get it running.

Nothing as in. no start, no idle, no rev?

Did you get it figured out?

Got the carb situation figured out. There was some gunk clogging the acclerator pump. But still no fire. I'm sure its a timing issue. I've got fuel and spark...

Didn't have much time to play around out there this evening. Had some friends over then had to go pick out my tux, and now I"m searching the local realty. We close Friday on our land, but I'm really having second thoughts about the drive. I found a place I really like here in town, so may have to go check it out tomorrow...
