Bike Ride for MS this coming week-end

A long story, but my wife's boss is riding the MS150 in Atlanta this coming weekend & needed another rider. SWMBO volunteered me.... Last Friday!

I have a previous commitment on Saturday, but will ride the 75 miles on Sunday with the team (team of 3)

This ride will be the longest ever for me (I did 63 yesterday on the Silver Comet Trail) so between better nutrition/hydration & a little adrenalin, 75 is do-able at a leasurely pace.

Here's the link to my page: https://www.nationalmssociety.org/GA...MS120060909ATL

Any contributions / prayers/ words of encouragement are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I would love to do this. I missed the ride here in Tampa this year. I have been a cyclist since i was 14, 33 now. My longest ride was 84 miles when i was 15. I did 64 miles about 4 years ago, did it in 3 hours, 40 minutes. Drink lots of water, i average a bottle an hour here in the humidity. Eat plenty, you will need it. You can even chug a Coke for a sugar rush. You are rasing money for a great cause, and you will be around a lot of people. Enjoy it (if possible).

What kind of bike are you riding?
I sold my Lemond Zurich a few years ago.. miss it bunches, that was a great riding bike...

I have a Specialized Allez. pretty much stock, full Ultegra, Shimano 540 front wheel, Mavic CXP-33, 36 spoke in the back ( I trashed the 540 rear), Terry seat, Speedplay pedals. I am kind of a "Fred", maybe more bike than my current capabilities, I prefer T-shirts to riding gear, etc.

Amen on the water, probably a Squincher every other hour or so, a couple of powerbars to add carbs.

I'll be riding with a couple of fine looking women (with my wife's permission/encouragement.) kind of a Peterbuilt leading the Ferraris home
