Here's another blip from a different site:

Question
This is my first pregnancy. I am 23 and am 33weeks 4days pregnant. I have been having pain in one of my legs near the knee and I am worried that it could be a blood clot, or less seriously, a varicose vein. I wonder if you could tell me the symptoms of both. I have been having the pain for a couple of months, but it comes and goes. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing or if I'm touching it or not. Could it just be due to weight gain? I have gained about 35 pounds.
I feel strongly that the pain is not a ligament or muscle.
Thank you.

Answer
Leg pain during pregnancy can be due to your weight, sciatic nerve pain (which usually radiates down the outside of the leg and can be alleviated by Tylenol), varicose veins (which is usually superficial pain), or a blood clot ("DVT" or Deep Vein Thrombosis) which is a life threatening situation. If you have difficulty in walking or lots of pain, you should have it checked out and get "doppler" studies of your legs. If DVTs are ruled out, you do not have to worry.

RC....best of luck with everything. Enjoy your 4 weeks alone. Keep those feet up and don't do too much.

Jamz...have your wife call her doctor. No question is a stupid question. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about though.

Just remember....you men are so lucky!!!!

Thanks LT! Unfortunately, starting next week we're reducing Brad's preschool from 4 full days to 2 half days so I won't be so "alone". WISH ME LUCK! hahahahaha

RC, keep us in the loop when Dane finally makes an appearance! Enjoy as much of your time off as you can. I know you won't have a lot of you time but try to squeeze in a little, it'll keep you sane!!

Jamz, I was just going to say "probably a nerve the baby is sitting on" when I saw RC's link. I'd still call the Doc just to be on the safe side. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Good luck, my sis and her hubby just had a baby. They're staying with us right now. I just got woken up from the baby crying. I can't sleep. He's still got his ambilical cord. Ha!

Don't jump to conclusions, Chicky -- it IS possible that you could have an ugly baby!

Yeah, she feels fine today. I think she just wanted a day off. She deserves it.
