So, a friend of mine died Friday night...
Wow. I found out this morning when I went to work, but I'm still dumb founded. I was just talking to this guy Friday evening, about what our workload was gonna be for Saturday, I show up yesterday morning for work and heard the news.
I spend more time at work than at home, so the people I work with become an extended family...I had my faults with this dude, don't get me wrong, but damn, WTF, over?
Apparently, when he was locking the building up yesterday, he laid his hand open pretty badly on the parking lot gate. Drove himself to the hospital to get stitched up, had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic or something they gave him, went into cardiac arrest and that was it. He was in good health, aside from smoking, he was only early 40-something and left behind a wife and two kids.
I always thought it was kinda clicheish, to live every day as if it were your last, but I've never had death land this close to my door. Ain't no joke, y'all...live so you don't regret what you've done with your life when your time comes. The man upstairs can punch our timecards whenever he feels like it.
That is all.

Sorry to hear about your acquaintance Quintin... it's amazing how fragile life really is when you think about something as simple as a few stitches leading to his demise. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends...
Quintin -
Sorry to hear about your friend. Death can come unexpectedly to any of us. I lost four friends/family members in the last two years. It's always shock and can be hard to take, even when it is expected.
Keep a positive attitude, live your life to the fullest, and all will be good.

I am glad you realize that there is ONE who holds your life in HIS hands. HE also holds eternal life in HIS hands.
I am so sorry that you have this loss. I know it is difficult to lose someone you value.
All are in our prayers.
Sorry Quintin. My prayers go out to your friend and his family. I had a close childhood friend of mine die a little over a year ago. It was a shock. She was so young and left two children behind. Actually today, she popped into my head. That happens often. Maybe it's true........only the good die young.
