THEN vs THAN review:
THEN vs THAN review:

The improper use of "THEN" and "THAN" is running rampant lately and it's time for the usual review.
(I can't decide if this then/than thing is a regional dialect thing, or just ignorance) Whichever it is . . .
READ AND LEARN !!!!
"Than" is a conjunction used with comparisons. It rhymes with pan.
Example: She likes you more than me.
"Then" is an adverb that refers to time. It rhymes with pen.
Example: First you take a cup of flour, and then you sift it.

I'm guilty of that....I think?
I think it's more of a "hurry up" thing, than an idiot thing.

This is funny. I got flamed on a hunting sight for correcting grammar, but it gets REAL old when you keep reading improper English...I've been reading here time after time the misuse of 'then' and 'than' but I refrained from correcting anyone since some just can't take it.
I will tell you what really bothers me is when someone says:
"I seen a real nice truck." OR, "I seen a big buck in the field." OR "We seen about 7 elk but didn't get a shot."
That is what I corrected on the other sight after reading it over and over for years. I finally cracked and wrote: It's "We SAW....."
Nobody showed me any mercy.

Imagine that.
Hey, no siht, if you see one of my posts like that...let me know. It's called constructive criticism....in my book. If I am making the same "idiot mistake" over and over, hell, I'd rather be told the correct way to use a word, then to do it over and over again.
Now, a misspelled word, that's different, I suck at spelling. Hey, if I am gonna have a misspelled word every now and then, I would at least like to have the grammar correct.
