Microsoft Exchange

How (if at all) can I get my Public Folder Calendar hosted on exchange to sync with my personal Calendar within outlook so that I can sync my calendar with external devices (phone, pda, ipod, webCals, etc)....

Never messed with Public folder synching, but with Exchange 2K3, I've set up Windows Mobile on my PPC 6700 phone to synch directly with my Exchange. That's the calendar, contacts and 2 weeks worth of emails (headers only until I request it to download). Shoot, in your neck of the woods, Sprint should have EVDO coverage and that makes for fast downloads on your phone.

I'm gonna try it without add ons but I did find this

Here is a free client-side only version (Outlook would have to remain open)

I dont see a way of doing it without scripting or 3rd party apps.

Sorry man...

http://www.outlookcode.com/ might have some scripts you can start from.

That is what I was afraid of.....I found the add2exchange....but it is unreal what they want in terms of compensation for that product.....I am running the trial verison (21days free).....and am dissapointed with it so far....it does not sync all of the tasks on my public folder like it is supposed to.....and it would only sync if I were to make myself the "owner" of the public folder....thus negating the option of allowing other users to do the same......

....talk about M$ dropping the ball on features.....again.....

Well remember...MS's end goal is to eliminate public folders altogether.

They wanted to with 2003 but were met with massive resistance.

It would kill me here.

UC....there is nothing to it really.

Is that what I should tell people in job Interviews when they ask if I have experience with Exchange?

It was my first reaction years ago when 2003 was in development. I thought...I'm screwed.

Microsoft does not recommend building apps or processes around public folders but rather use Sharepoint or SQL server solutions.

Drives me nuts.

They have since backed down quite a bit but you know MS...once they get it in their head they are gonna do it eventually.

I could only find this article from a few years back discussing it.

http://www.windowsitpro.com/Articles...layTab=Article

I'll have 2003 for years yet so I'm not worried about it right now.
