oh ya, the wireless router is encripted, But I suspect some one was using my cable conection at the same time I was on my coumputer before I bought the router, I would call the cable company to see how active thier DSL is and They would allways tell me no problem and yet the the modem would be allways be on a hunger strike.

Coumputer boot's up, runs quicker now

Is it cable or DSL?

2 different connections, wit hcable you will see fluctuations on you connection speed, Cable is a party line that you must share with your neighbors for several blocks.

With cable you will likely notice you are slower at certain times of day than others. Probably slowest between 7pm-10pm becasue that is whe neveryone else in your neighborhood is getting online too.
