Network Security Question

I need advice on a program that I can install on my computer other than ethereal. Something that captures packets udp and TCP that is user friendly.

What else have you tried. Airopeek is one we use at work.

I have tried ethereal and KGB Keystroke logger.. My antivirus system starts alarming when the keystroke is running so that's $45 gone down the drain unless I disable my antivirus ( AVAST).

What are you trying to use it for? Are you looking for a network or are you just scanning the area areound you?
