Irving TX.....hot as hell

I'm here in Irving all week for a Mircrosoft training sessions on the building and deployment of Vista, and all I can say is you TX guys are crazy! Man it's hot as hell down here, how do you stand this on a daily basis? I walked from the Hotel to a local Restaurant and thought I was going to melt before I got there and back...... Call me a wuss if you must, but I'm not used to this *****.

In VA it's hot, but here it feels like the sun is burning a hole right through me.

Yeah, you foreigners can't take the heat. Today it was only warm.

If you think it's hot in the DFW area, c'mon down to Houston for a little while and add some nice humidity to the mixture!

It's just as humid here most of the time with that south wind pumping that Gulf moisture up north. But it's no big deal.

Once again, you are just wrong! It is much more humid and just plain more miswerable in Houston/Sugar Land than around Fort Worth. The heat is unbearable for me down there.

I think not. The temp is hotter here and with the humidity we have makes it just as hot if not hotter here.

You are as confused as Jamzwayne!

You can't decide whether you want to raise that black beast or lower it. You can't decide which tips you want so you go with single exhaust, you can't decide which tuner to get so you will get both, you can't figure out that you need to paint the spokes on your XLT wheels black. At least you did have sense enough to buy a black Ford and you did let a Rat Trerrier adopt you. But good grief! We as hot as Houston? No way!

from experiences of living in both places. Houston isnt hotter, it's just harder to breathe during the summer from all the "wet" hot air. Here in Dallas, it's Hotter and throw in the humidity it makes it hard to breathe,.,,so in my opinion Dallas/Ft. Worth is hotter and more miserable in the summer. Still wouldnt trade it though..I love this state.

There is no way that 100 with 35% humidity is hot heat index wise as 90 with 80% humidity. The coastal heat with the humidity is a sapper.

It's hot here in D/FW but try living in Louisiana in the summer time where the humidity is about 75% everyday. When you walk out of the house and it is 85 degrees at 8AM, it hits you like a baseball bat. I would much rather have the "dry" heat here in Texas than the "wet" heat in Louisiana. Though I have heard that is Houston is pretty miserable too.

Actually, heat and humidity effects each person differently. When I was in Okinawa there were folks I was stationed with that couldn't bare the heat and humidity near as easily as I could. Hell, I lived in the crap my whole life, so I was acclimatized to it. Others that have never "really" experienced that kind of climate had some trouble for the first couple/few months.

Like bizzle said, it's a completely different climate. Just like Houstons is different then the DFW area.

Black is the only good looking color, anything else is a wimp out. BTW, not only is it hotter in Houston, their mosquitoes are as big as buzzards. They will actually fight back when you try to swat'em. I hate it down there. Any time I can go sit in the shade under a tree, do nothing but breathe and have my shirt soaking wet with sweat, I am ready to leave.
